The Official Assassin's Creed Thread

a lot of the early impressions of this seem to be of it being quite repetitive but it's also been compared to Crackdown by some people as in you get out of it what you put in, I've still got it on pre-order anyway I want to get my own make up my own mind about this game.
 
anyone know of any comparisons between the xbox360 and ps3 versions? - I wanna make sure I get the best version - I'm erring towards the 360 at the moment given previous dual format releases but I'd prefer to have some hard facts.
 
Ive got this on my pre-order list, is it out this Friday or next? If its this friday its gunna be sitting at home for a week until im home from work :(
 
Found a review for the PS3 version by 1UP ( same as the 360 one) they gave it 7/10

There is a major spoiler in the review though , well only major if you hadnt read many other reviews. You also find out this at the very start of the game so i doubt it will bother most people but still

Summary;

Though I'm focusing on a lot of Assassin's Creed's faults, this doesn't mean I didn't enjoy playing the game -- it attempts a lot of ambitious things and it almost succeeds at every one. But it's apparent that these grandiose ideas may have been a little too much to master the first go-round. But hey, at least the groundwork is laid for a killer sequel -- right, Ubisoft?

Think they be a bit harsh on the game but until i play i wont know i guess.
 
You will have heard me complaining in the past about there not been enough good games. Aagh, man there are just too many good games that have been or about to be released and I have no self control. I was in a way hoping that AC was not going to be that good so that I would not have to buy it on release. I am still playing the Witcher on PC (an awseome game) and I have ordered Crysis which is coming out on Friday and there is Mass Effect next week.

Right, that's it I'm putting it on I'll just not eat for a few days lol

I'll have to trade something in for Mass Effect though, I doubt I will ever play Halo 3 again so probably that.

I tend to trust 1up more than anybody else. Their review team is the best around and they really really understand gameplay. Also based on what I've seen it does look like a very very polished 7/10.

I'll know when I pikc it up on friday i guess.

Can someone go and check the IGN and Gamespot score please (at work)
 
Interesting review. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those awesome mind blowing games that changes everything- for a weekend until we get bored of it and Mass Effect comes out :D
 
Ah crap. Don't read the review if you don't want spoilers. Right at the start of the sodding review they give away some of the story for the most part. I thought I could get away with the start of the review too. I can't wait for Friday, I've not bought a 360 title since Biochoc.

If its the same review then i think i skipped that bit as it does give a little warning. Althought it also did say that the game do give away the "spoiler" in the first 5 mins so there is no real loss.

lol thats dedication

strange the review sites are so slow on the uptake for this tbh, probably because mass effect has been hyped into the stratosphere

kind of annoyed i didnt read the rest of the thread before the review now, it gives an awful lot away :/
