" Non-reference is the word of the month for Nvidia's new bay, the GeForce 8800 GT and it is something that Galaxy likes to say a lot these days. After releasing a stock GeForce 8800 GT the manufacturer is ready to ship a newly-designed card powered by the G92. The new 8800 GT features some major modifications to make it more overclocking-friendly like the 3 phase power design, the new PCB and the dual-slot cooler equipped with two heatpipes. With all the new additions you'd think Galaxy would let loose the MHz but to our surprise the card features the stock clocks of 600 MHz for the memory and 1800 MHz for the GDDR3 memory. Of course that doesn't mean the owners of such cards can't overclock them.

Galaxy's new GeForce 8800 GT will become available later this month but its price tag has not been unveiled. "

hmmhh hopefully they bring out a zalman one as most galaxy ones ive had have had one on would make it very worth while.

Thsi could annoy a lot of people that just bought their GT's. But tbh if you are going to buy straight away and at a premium you have only your self to blame for it. These look to be good, cant wait for benchmarks.

well ive been holding off till crysis is released to get new graph card as nothing is going to stress it more for a while and i can see what these will be playable at.

whats a 3 phase power design? Otherwise just buy the cheapest GT and the cooler of your choice. Probably better and cheaper. :)

Sorry I am just mad at the GT because even though it is PCIE2 you still need the power adapter. Gay or what. (x38 owner)

You should already know based on the demo, the full games runs practically the same.

I run it fine at 1680x1050, all high/very high settings using a modified CFG file.

Any Vendor apart from EVGA, and you void warrenty changing Cooler (ok if you dont get caught but you could break it).

Seriously, they aren't gonna release a graphics card that only works with one chipset (currently). Think realistic here.

How? I can barely get acceptable FPS with all on High at 1680x1050 with an 8800GTX on XP, let alone Vista.

I just run it... don't ask me how :p 20-30 fps seems nice and smooth in Crysis.

And I am running XP, not Vista.

If its referring to a 3 phase supply to power the card, it means that it will be more efficient than single phase. It'll Use three conductors instead of two (which is used for single phase).

Thats probably why its saying that its more overclocking friendly.

ive not read about the card, but that's what 3 phase power basically is :P

The phase just refers to the number of voltage regulators controlling the PWM power. The more there is, the faster the transient response and lower ripple current/phase, along with better efficiency.
