COD4 resolution for both the 360 and PS3 is 600p (1024x600p 2xAA).

COD4 X360 = 1024x600p 2xAA again...
COD4 PS3 = 1024x600p 2xAA too...

exactly the same
it's typically a X360 resolution (1024x600 is an anamorphic resolution use strictly on X360 for full the EDRAM) use on a PS3 game, it's strange
this point than COD4 is a "X360 centric" game (the very bad compression of video point this too, or the difficulty to port the texture panel in the two PS3 memory pool)
PS3 centric game = Uncharted

Is this true ??

Wasn't there an issue with CoD3 not being a full 720p title or something back when it was released? Iirc that title wasn't by Infinity Ward either, but some other chaps.

I remember seeing something about PGR3 not being as high as 720p or something...but i can't remember seeing anything about COD3

Yeah I remember PGR3. I'm quite sure there was some kind of resolution issue with CoD3 too. I find it odd that both 3 & 4, having made by different companies both exhibit this 'issue'. We'll hardly notice it though that's the thing.

The 2xAA helps hide this fact a lot, on Halo 3 it was really noticeable due to the lack off AA.

Also all the post processing effects help disguise the low resolution aswell.

Looks great on my 32" Panny CRT with the Advanced Scart, huge difference over composite and deffo next gen, HD must look incredible even at that res.

Shocking isn't it, I bought a brand new 1080P TV few months back and half the games run at less than 720P!

Luckily I can plug my PC into it and run the games at true high definition, for example COD4 PC version piped through at native 1080P is truly breathtaking, especially with 16x aniso and 4x aa.
