Morning

I will be getting my 360 Elite delivered tomorrow, I have never owner a Xbox before and never really played on one, I need to get a wireless adapter which unfortunitly I cant afford until the end of the month, but what was the first thing you guys done when you got your 360's, I have heard that I can stream films from my PC hard drive through my 360 onto my TV no that sounds interesting and will save me on a few DVD's.

It wont streaming and play divx and xvid at the moment, you'll need software on your pc for that. First thing i did i just play games on it, the networking and connect to my PC came a couple of days later, it was like a week before i even bothered to get on XBL but looking back i should've done it sooner.

So to sum it up

1 - Get a Gametag
2 - Connect it to your router, get on XBL
3 - Play games

You can figure out how to stream music later, and play those music while you are playing a game too, I find that quite handy. Don't really use it to stream videos at all because it's using the same TFT as my PC so there is zero point doing that for me.

Good buy, sure you will love it, first things I did was get on Live, to play off course but also to grab a ton of demo's to see what the console was all about :D

Yeah once you hook it up to Live then it would hard not to miss it, as said can't you just run a wired connection for the time being :-)

There are plenty of great demos to try out once youve got live hooked up, you can download those on the free silver account and i assume (someone will corrent me if im wrong :)) theyre still giving away a months free gold membership which will allow you to play online as well as download content.

Thats tempting, I would need a long cable because I dont have a TV in my computer room where my modem & router is and I dont suppose you can connect the Xbox360 to a PC monitor can you ?

It depends what inputs your monitor has got! If it has HDMI or component then yes you can straight out the box but if it's just DVI/VGA then you'll need to buy a seperate cable.

You should be able to run it via a standard VGA cable though (Get the official MS one, its by FAR the best quality) if you have a widescreen monitor you'll benefit well from it, alternatively a cheap £100ish 19" tft from here would do you damn well too, really works well for a budget :)
