RAF film a close up of a Typhoon

Im not trying to be cynical or anything but surly thats just photoshopped? I mean the plane theyre in is traveling in is going straight whilst the tornado is going at an angle........ it wouldnt come straight towards them no?

Im no boffin at this, but i think its something to do with the aerodynamics. If the jet were to go straight it would be uncontrollable due to the displacement of air from the larger aircraft, may be possibly better to handle when at an angle. (like i say, im no boffin, so please let a boffin correct me)

Probably due to the fact that the C-130's cruising speed at altitude isn't much more than the Typhoon's landing speed, so no flaps+low speed at altitude=high angle of attack. As long as the Typhoon keeps out of the way of the wingtip vortices he's in pretty clean air behind the C-130 so that shouldn't make too much of a difference.

That's my guess anyway - it didn't seem 'wrong' to me looking at the AoA in those pics.

It's no photoshop. It's a angled using trim and throttle control.

You can point the nose up, but with the correct quantity of thrust, the aircraft can stay in equilibrium without climbing or stalling.

I stand corrected :)

If it is real thats incredible control that pilot is using - im sure there are people that couldnt drive their car at constant speed that close :P
