Car numberplate check

Hi there, i once had a website that i could enter number plates into and it would tell me the make model and whether the car was insured etc. (and it was free) does anyone know of any? thanks.

i personally use http://www.cardatachecks.co.uk/, does the job. just put in the no. plate on the right and any fake email, doesnt actually need it or anything.

Does that site tell you if the car is insured? that's what the OP was asking for.

EDIT: seems to just tell you exactly what the DVLA site would....
