I have a black car and unless I keep a coat of wax on it it really shows paint swirls, I used tcut black polish last time and it looked excellent, is it safe to use such a product on a monthly basis?

No, it is not. You will eventually remove all the paintwork.

You shouldn't need to use it that often. Once you get the paint to a good standard just keep laying on the wax.

Super resin polish is very good and easy on your paint, still wouldn't use it once a month though. I polish once a year and wax... er... lots :o

The trick is to remove the swirls as much as possible, and then adopt a washing method to reduce the swirls. I recomend a lambs wool mitt, and the 2 buckey washing method.

I use the 2 bucket method as is, so to wax a car is ok, am I right in thinking that it will also mask the swirls, the previous owner wasnt very caring.

Victoria concourse was is unbelieveably good, but a real PITA to use, especially if its hot/in sunlight. And it smells lush.

Can't really go wrong with poor boys either. That smells nice too!

For a black car collonite 915 is pretty good.

Once the paintwork is in a state to be waxed give it 2-3 coats (try and leave a few hours in between).

This should last a good 4-5 months.

The best way to remove paint swirls is to use an orbital polisher which if used correctly will eradicate them completely not just mask them (which waxing does). Its well worth getting this done professionally.

Nah, that means you got OCD innit

Tcut and Super Resin Polish aren't waxes - they are POLISHES - dont use one of these every month. A good Polish and then wax will last you if you keep on reapplying wax every couple of months.

I picked up a bottle of silver T-Cut polish to get rid of some minor scratches but I'm a bit wary of using it to do the whole car in case I take the paint off. Should be safe for at least one application then?

The coloured T-Cut stuff (Fast colour or something like that I think its called) is only slightly abrasive. Similar in abrasiveness to something like Colour Magic, ie perfectly safe but I wouldn't be using it too often. Probably won't be abrasive enough to remove anything other than the very lightest of scratches though. Being coloured it may appear to remove more than it does by filling them in.

Not sure if the T-Cut stuff claims to protect as well as polish like Colour Magic does but even if it does I'd still finish up with a coat of proper wax :)
