Ok whos running with the Reebok Pump

GOW or Uncharted as I have read Uncharted upped the ante when it comes to gfx. I've not played both so anyone care to comment.

Does PS3 have the cajonies to match 360s graphical power house which is GOW?

No-one has played the full Uncharted on these forums yet as it is not released. To base it on the demo would be premature.

But to be honest Gears Of War has already been bettered as Epic have made UT3 for PS3 which they themselves say have raised the graphical bar above GOW (their other next gen game to date). Again no-one has played this so it's not definitive, but indications are that it will better GOW in it's own genre. I think Uncharted is a different style and speed of game so not a fair comparison tbh.

Just my opinion based on what Epic have said, and they are generally regaded very highly as developers.

Played Gears of war and the uncharted demo I would say maybe uncharted (just), but its hard to tell from part of 1 level though, but this is from the Eurogamer review (not renowned for PS3 love ins)

"As much as Gears of War provided a stunning next-generation shooter setting, the moody greys and browns made it a harsh, dark, hostile, and monochromatic place to be. In Uncharted, it's not just superior to Gears in terms of out and out detail, but brings a feel-good factor with the sheer level of environmental variety on offer. Covering the full spectrum from 'destroyed beauty' to lush, tropical jungles (and all points in between), it has the kind of action adventure template that Eidos and Crystal Dynamics must be looking at with a great deal of envy right now."

"In its full 1080p glory, I can safely say most people will be absolutely blown away by the craft that has gone into making the world come alive. The dusty, crumbling ruins, the dense, tropical forests, and even the water effects - they're above and beyond anything committed to a gaming canvas to date. Yes, at the end of the day it's just eye candy, but what eye candy! Isn't this one of the reasons we look forward to new technology? To reiterate, when you factor in immensely fluid animation, superb controls, a flawless, ever-helpful camera system, decent enemy AI and an engaging non-cringeworthy storyline, the fact that there's also a visual feast on show is something to celebrate."

Wanted to ask you as your a fan of heroes. Were you not let down by the ending of series 1?

I also watched a couple of eps of the second season and thought it was getting really bad. The cheerleader is annoying now also.

OT: Not disappointed, I think people just had too high expectations and where expecting a mammoth fight scene with super duper effects etc. It tied up the storyline perfectly, without leaving gaping plotholes, which I prefer to flashy sci-fi effects any day of the week. Everything played out as it should have if you think about it. Season 2 starts slow but is playing out very nicely now, I can't say anything else regarding it specifically due to rules here.

Heavenly Sword destroys GOW in terms of graphics having played both myself on HD screens.

Johnnyfive, have you considered seeking medical advice for your forum posting insanity, you are quite mad my friend. :p

This thread will not end well, but in my opinion Uncharted is graphically superior but it helps that it is released a year later.

Really? I was playing Heavenly Sword last night and couldn't help but think it was average at best graphically.

Your just a fussy git :p

Nah seriously, I don't see how one game can have better graphics than another, obviously Doom looks silly compared to Crysis or CoD4. But really when it comes to modern games I think its pretty much down to personal taste, Take World of Warcraft for example, pretty poor graphics by todays standards but it does what it does very well, and at times can look absolutely stunning!

Its personal preference at the end of the day, what one person loves another won't think its much.

graphics in Heavenly Sword can be stunning one minute and downright awful the next, but end of the day i really like it, even the shooting bits that seemed to get slated i'm enjoying. its just a shame that certain other games on the 360 have drawn me away from my PS3 right now

I keep playing the Uncharted demo (in 1080p) and I don't know, there is just elements of the graphics that don't excite me... trees and other furniture look decidely 'old'.. you get some open part with a 'flat' floor that just has these 5 stemmed bush things, all identical just stuck on top..

I'm looking at the IGN screen shots for both, typical examples here..

and

they are different, but GOW seems to have much more surface textures on the floors etc... still a great looking game..
