I have just finished putting together my dream macro kit, much of which was chosen with the help of the good folk here on OcUK.

EOS 5D
MP-E65
MT-24EX
Manfrotto 475B (with geared column)
Manfrotto 405 geared head
Manfroto 454 sliding plate

But now it is dark and cold.

What good to take mcro pictures of here indoors, in the warm?

money! bit cliche..but a good test :)

Yeah. Very funny. Exactly how much of that do you think I have left? :-)

But Mrs Gaffer came to the rescue with a nice crisp new fiver.

This is from behind the queen's neck:

With a 100% crop:

There was much more warmth and colour without the flash, but the flash picks out the thickness of the ink...

Ideas from me ...

shiney kitchen things such as forks, collinders, cheese graters, inside drum of the washing machine (all a bit abstracty). How about water? I took a picture of the inside of a jar full of sliced beetroot (surprisingly good subject) as are jumbo sized mushrooms.

You can see a few I took a while back www.flickr.com/photos/martinturner) Had nowhere near as good kit as you have but may help.
