Unreal Engine 3 is supposed to be fairly optimised. To get the most out of it you need a top-end machine, but lesser beasts as well.

What are you comparing it to?
UT isn't designed to be realistic at all... it's all about fast paced, shoot, die, respawn, shoot, kill, shoot, kill, die repeat.

UT is not everyone's cup of tea. Some people prefer their weapon-jamming, sniper-scope-till-your-eyes-glazing, killed-from-nowhere type of gameplay like in the military FPSs...ahem...or Crysis.
To me, UT is the heir to Quake at the moment w.r.t. multiplayer. It has evolved everything that made Doom to Quake 3 amazing - the engine, the weapons, the movement. I have played 2k4 a lot online and have to say it is about as close to multiplayer gaming perfection as I have come.
So saying the weapons suck if you are not a fan of the genre (maybe you are) is like me turning around and saying the same about Crysis ("Its just Far Cry in a nanosuit ffs!").
Anyway, games out in a week and a half peeps.

In the heat ray map of the demo, does anyone know what that big holograph like thing is? When you step into it, your vision goes blurred ... whats the point?

I absolutely love the online Vehicle DM on the demo. I've never played UT before and I think I'll be ordering this

Just to show off some fancy blurring effects. Its always amusing to run up and kill ppl who think it gives them invisibility.

Amazing game!
Haven't had chance to play this online yet but the gameplay is amazing!
I think this is better than Crysis...
But then again I didn't like Farcry when it came out...
Will be buying this or getting Santa to drop it off on his way round
