Hi when I bought my water cooling kit it came with a small bottle of UV/cooling agent. I added it all to my system and all was fine, but as of late I have noticed that the UV inst showing up at all, I have 3 UV cathodes all pointing at them.

Now I'm guessing that the compound only has a small life and has now died!
Does any 1 know of any good UV die I could use?

cheers

Perhaps your water is just skanky and that crud is blocking the light as it gets to or from the UV portion. When's the last time you flushed the system?

Havant yet, pc is only about 6 months old.
But i did hoover off all the dust in me rad and now my tems have droped by about 10 deg

If you got 6 months of colour out of UV dye you've done well! The tubing itself causes the problems not the dye. If you don't want it happening again the only option is to use coloured tube or something like Feser one/ similar rather than water and UV dye.

Does the tubing give a good effect? it would be a bit of a mission to change all the tubing :)

Funny you should say that.. I've bought a couple of 1m lengths to see what the coloured stuff is like as I've had the same issues as you. Got fed with with the colours going after a few months! Unless anyone else replies I'll have a look at it tomorrow under some UV lights and will let you know!

Yeah it is always a mission to change the tubes.. you might get away with flushing some of it out but most of the time it's just better to re-tube it. I haven't used many of the other coloured liquids on the market for long enough to see if the same effect happens with them.. perhaps someone else knows?

the koolance fluid in my rig, unchanged in about 2 years is.. (checks) still glowing nicely under uv...

i wonder if certain dyes are more robust, or if its just because mine hasnt been constantlyunder heavy uv (only a pile of CM neon purples)

I have used the same 10mm thermaltake uv green tubing for almost a year now and the coloring is fine. Some cloudy stuff began to deposit on the inside but I flushed some water and white vinegar through them and they were clean again.
