**CALL OF DUTY 4 MODERN WARFARE**

God dammit, went to play tonight only to find out for some strange reason my profiles been deleted and its not in my profiles folder either, was lvl45 as well :(
 
I completed Crysis yesterday and CoD4 today (got GoW left now :p) and must say the presentation for CoD 4 was sublime. Never before have I felt like I was actually playing a movie. A combination of The Unit and 24 and Black Hawk Down if you will, it was a great experience.

The graphics were not as good as Crysis but they were on top with Crysis and both easily are better than most FPS PC games out today and they cannot be compared to one another either.

Thoroughly enjoyed CoD4, you know there will be another CoD game but not because of the ending because the ending is just like in a film but because the series does so well at what it does, I was let down by comparison of the Crysis ending, I do not want to have to wait x more years for Crysis 2, I want to enjoy this ending and then look forward to the next instalment instead of having to go "oh, wait what?" as it leaves me on a cliff hanger of an ending!

As a whole I'd say I enjoyed the cinematic presentation of CoD 4 the best but the interaction and replay value of Crysis is of a far greater standard since it is so open ended and not limited to an invisible barrier when you decide to navigate an objective via an alternative route.

Anyone completed COD4 and checked out the cheats yet? Ragtime and Contrast are pretty cool, the Contrast one makes the graphics look quite interested I must say.

Every time I connect it just sits there saying awaiting key code authorization and then just times out... I've managed to get on to one server ONCE!

Open console with shift ` or ¬ and type /reconnect

then continue to press up and enter to spam the reconnect command :)

I got the game last evening and I am enjoying it though it feels like I'm not playing the game rather the game is playing for me. Sometimes games can be too scripted.
 
sorry but his is what i was hoping for with the next cod and wanted cod2 to be like.it looks great plays great even on middle of road systems unlike crysis.the online experience is awesome as you will see by he amount of people on the servers(theyre full all the time) . its like theyve took the best bits from all the cod series and gelled them into one game.finally a game to replace my favourite uo which i thought could never be bettered as near perfect.if you asked my online buddies you would know how big a comment that is of how great this game is.people who dont like spam nades go on the right server, if you go on a 50 tdm what do you expect:p i can see this being best game of year and very popular for a few years yet.

I agree, its a shame the game isnt a little more like Armed Assualt when it comes to unit control. Then again real warfare is a little frantic if im honest.

It was originally 1.5MB, but wasn't an automated process.

I'm actually a little confused as you why there's such a difference in size, as I downloaded both from the IW official site... :confused:

I think I may restore my original file and run this automated patch just in case. ;)

EDIT:

Well the iw3mp.exe is identical for both manual and automated. But now I have an additional/modified 3 files, 1 of which is the install.log, and the other two are servercache.dat and version.inf

Is there any way of unlocking all of the missions? I just tried to play and for some reason its wiped out all of my saves.. I can only start at the start again! Grr!!! :mad:
 
I've just got COD4 installed and configured the movement and some other ones to the number pad but its not working, cant move with numberpad, can with the normal WSAD but thats no good for me.

Any ideas why this is happening?
