Can betfair matched bets be cancelled?

Hi, I placed a £10 accumalator bet on Betfair, I pressed submit etc but it just wouldn't load, so I pressed back, something happened and prodata or something if i remembered correctly then I just clicked OK (only option), went back into my account to see if bet was placed, it was placed 3X!!!

Now great if it does work but it was a long shot bet but I only wanted to place it once, emailed betfair obviously waiting for reply but will also call them tomorrow, anyone have any experience with this and can 2 of the 3 bets be cancelled? Will they do it for me? or am I just buggered to losing £30?

Do they have a number? I wouldn't have thought you would receive any info till tomorrow though!

I doubt it, why don't you just lay the outcome for say £20? You will get your money back minus the overlay.

I would but that would mean depositing 300 odd into the account which I dont have :/

I may stand corrected but I don't know if you actually need that money, because in theory your current 'win' bet would cover the liability?

They take it out of the account straight away, dont think the system is that clever to know if I win or lose it's covered.

just lay the bet back at the odds you backed it at

the "green" on the other side will cover you.. no need to deposit a penny.

Because Betfair screwed up and placed his bet 3x? :confused:

I bet in moderation, have £10 most weekends on an accumulator and do well for myself. Don't see it as a sin, everything is fine if you have a control on it.

It's like any betting....If you go into a bookies, and you cancel your bet BEFORE the off, then ** ok (well was when i worked in a bookies about 2yrs ago) lol

doesn't make a difference if it's 3x or 20x... if the market is still open he can lay off his liability. That's what betfair is all about.

Do a search for betfair and trading.

I understand how betfair works. I took the "3x" to mean that Betfair had placed 3 identical threads, 2 of which he wished to cancel.

You can't cancel the bet if it has been matched.

yes so all he has to do is lay off his bet before the market closes.

I understand if he put a bet on and it went through 3 times instead of once and then the market was suspended, but he has time to trade out in this one.

If I lay the bet it says I stand to lose £9XX for £20, if I back it with £30 it says I stand to win £750 so I can't lay it.

AND i'm not going to put £900 odd into my betfair account for the sake of saving £20, it want's the liability payed out straight away and it'll pay you back.
