best card for the £100 - £130 mark?

it's more for photo editing and desktop work than gaming.

not been nvidia for years, so are ATI still the top in that level?

Sounds like the X1950 Pro for £70 would be suitable and save you some cash.

i was thinking the pro.....i've got a 1950pro in my other machine. Didn't know if there was anything in the newer ranges which would be better?

woud rather get all of the build from the same place......and OCUK don't have them for that.

the 3850 looks a decent bet though.
