She received a punishment for breaking a law in her country. Yeah it's extreme, but the law is the law. It's a strict country with strict religious beliefs.

I know I sound a bit heartless, but, it's their law whether it's humane or not.

I can actually see both sides of the story and I don't think its as clear cut as the headline suggests it is. Their laws said she shouldn't have been in the car.

Yes she was raped, but she also broke the law herself. Pretty clear-cut, I'd say.

If a woman got raped over here having just committed a burglary would you let her off the burglary?

They aren't all savages but the justice system here could certainly do with a bit of civilising, or do you think it is OK to whip someone for the horrendous crime of being in a car with someone?
