I can't help but think that it is called "Detailing" becuase the people doing it don't like to say that they wash and polish cars for a living.

"What do you do for a job?"

"Oh I detail cars"

"Oh right, detail cars, what is that then?"

"Well I clean and polish them really, detailling just sounds better"

And yes I would have my car detailed.

How so, all it is is just they are removing scratches, maybe the correct term is refinishing, detailing is just such a mongy term,

A valet is somebody who vacuums your car or parks it for you at a hotel.

No a valet is what you used to get done to you car before someone decided to say, hey we can charge more for it if we call it detailing. I was once quoted £50 to have my car "done with compound" by a car valet this was a while ago though

Paint is better than new. So more than 8 years i guess to get just how it was before.

That looks awesome, red is a superb colour when shiny and clean.
