FAO Elise S1 owners - Oblivious etc?

Quick question regarding your interior, specifically your foglight switch.

I noticed at a meet that the S1 Elise has exactly the same switchgear style as my 205, ie a small, round button thats textured on the bottom half like a golf ball, all dimpled.

Now, do S1 Elise's have independant control of the front fogs? If so, don't suppose you'd be able to grab me a picture of the button for the front fogs would you?

S1 has no front fog lights, you are thinking of the two small driving lights that come on only when main beam is on. The fog light button you mention controls the rear fog lights which are a legal requirement in this country.

Looks to me like the buttons depress in the outer ring, unlike the 205 where the whole thing is pressed in.

I don't really think about it, but I think the whole button goes in, including the surround.

The Elise is low enough that it doesn't need fog lights

They are the exact same switches used in the Peugeot 205 etc.

Ah, I thought as much, i'll have to think of another solution then. I'm hoping to set up my driving lights so that they can be switched on independantly of the main beam (as well as coming on with the main beam still) so that they can be used as sort-of foglights, and wanted to retain an OEM look.

Do you know that fog lights and driving lights have different beam patterns? A driving light will just add more forward facing light (read: blind oncoming drivers) whereas a fog light dissipates the light so it goes to the sides and "the immediate lower front" of your car.

Yep, thanks for the info though, I thought it was something about different beam patterns, but wasn't sure. My driving lights are very low down anyway, and aren't massively bright. I'm just wanting to get some extra light 'underneath' the fog.
