If you wanted to use 2 cards then yes, can still use a single ATI card though.

You can use 2 Nvidia cards but only 1 ATi card.

SLi is Nvidia dual card soloution whilst Crossfire is ATi's dual card soloution.

Look for mobo's that support Crossfire. Intel mobo's with dual PCI-E slots support Crossfire.

3850 is a quiet a bit faster. It can be had for £105, but OcUK prices aren't great atm.

You can use 2 Nvidia cards but only 1 ATi card.

Apparently it can be done but there is performance problems.
