Yeh I managed to find an unlocked profile on good old GCW!
Still a bit gay it borked my profile though..
On the plus side.. Just done the sniper mission, and it was ****ing amazing! One of the best levels in any FPS I have ever played!
Are there any tweaks for COD4 to make the graphics 10x better like with Crysis?

How is this game online? Downloaded the demo and enjoyed it, and I'm thinking about heading out tomorrow and buying it. However, if I do I probably won't even play the single player, I'm a huge fan of FPS multiplayer you see.
So what is it like? I've read a few people say it's best online FPS ever. How does it compare to CS:Source and BF2? How big are the maps? How many people max on a map, and are there any frame issues?
General info would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Also, is there an in-game buddy system? BF2 didn't have one of these and it made it incredibly hard to find a game a friend was in without using Xfire. And what about an in-game voice system?

No in game buddies list i'm afraid! Basic server browser buggy like BF2's was.
Once you finally manage to connect after numerous attempts at actually getting into a server,without seeing the connection error message, you can have a decent game.
I'm sure things can be improved with a patch or to and once the map editor gets released and the modders go to work creating larger maps than the current matchbox arena's we have now.You will see Multiplayer aspect of this game that's worth playing.

Once you get a bit further into it you will notice some very nices touches, most of the time things are so franctic that you dont have time to sit and admire the visials, which is a shame.

I find it best to try and stick to 1-3 servers and get to know the players on that server. Makes playing the game so much more fun.
I'm always on either a jolt.co.uk server or the Blackhats clan server.

Free for all is totally manic as the maps are way too small. Team deathmatch is a little better but it's better sticking to smaller servers imo due to the relatively small maps. This game would be amazing if you could play it on BF2 size maps.

I had this game on the 360 since release, and it was good. I got it on PC last week because my old clan mates (good people I have known for years, only 6 of us) have all got it and are starting our clan again.
THIS GAME IS AWESOME. God how I missed mouse and keyboard. My 360 version is going up on auction this week and I am happy to be back into clanning as I missed it. Last time I did it was in BF2 with Team Conflict and Clan 10 for COD:UO and BF2.
This is such a wicked game, I love it.

what happens when u get 2 rank 55 ? ive heard u can start again but why would u want to do that lol
The server browser is absolutely fine, its basically the same one they used all the way from CoD1, and if its not broken, why fix it? Only thing that it needs is a hardcore server filter, which no doubt will be added in a later patch.
also, for the connection error messages, bring down the console and put in seta cl_connectionAttempts 30. its set at 10 just now, but it takes +10 seconds to verify CD key, which is why all the connection errors are getting thrown up. Changing it to 30 will basically guarantee that it will connect you to every server.
Also, cg_fov 80, they have changed the fov to 65 for some reason in cod4, where it was always 80 in the other games. give 80 a try, can always change it back
and kris, nothing really. I reckon theyll do a WOW and release patches letting you rank up a few more levels.

You can only do that in the 360 and PS3 versions. When you do start again you get a special insignia which shows you have reached 55 before. I think you can do it 6 times in total. Some people just like to show off I guess

Is there any way of unlocking all of the missions? I just tried to play and for some reason its wiped out all of my saves.. I can only start at the start again! Grr!!!
This only takes 10minutes to complete, just do it again lol
(Ok maybe 15minutes on hard)
only thing that annoys me in this game is the overuse of grenades
the number of people you see walking round the m16 with M203 just using the M203 as their only weapon is unbelivable.
I can stand the fact that the normal grenades seem to land all over the place, because they usually tend to be tossed from afar. Noob tubers just walk round the corner, fire at your feet and get off scot free. They need to increase delay on them, or increase blast radius or something
they had to address this in BF2, and i think it will probably get balanced in COD4 too.
to my mind, any weapon being used in a way it was not intended for (for example using m203 as your primary weapon in close quarter battles) needs action by the developers to balance it out.

He has an X1800XT and it ran fine on max at 1400 x 900 or something similar to that res
