Your next car?

Civic Type R - Had a longgggg test drive in this and thought it was great. Only did country roads so not tested on motor way!

Tempted to go for a S2000 maybe, but don't think it would be practical, so most likely the Type R. Has a huge waiting list - but i wouldnt be able to afford one for a good year anyways :)

Your exhausts look crap.

Sorry I was following one the other day and couldn't work out if they were standard fit or some chavvy extra. Seems they're standard :(

They do yes i totaly agree (but from the drivers seat i do not have to look at them ;) ), I should also mention they are fake, but saying that for 12k its hard to get a better car (IMO) with the same spec, age and mileage.

The interior is absoulty lovely, it handles great, its very quick, and it sounds fantastic when you boot it.

I've posted on here in the recent past regarding the purchase of a Lancia Delta EVO.

However, the week before last was spent up in Yorkshire and whilst there I went round the local importers and car dealers. Some of the more infamous importers didn't fail to show how they got their reputation. I even found a car in Bradford that I viewed last year in Cardiff and it had had a severe crash at some point.

However, 2 Lancias, 2 Impreza P1s and a Impreza Type R tested and I just don't like the Lancia as much as the Impreza.

P1 or Type R will be next.

Please dont tell me you went to Keighley Trade Centre or Torque of Keighley? :(

Ive driven the new CTR extensively and preferred it to the old model, but neither of them are fast enough for me.

My next car is going to be much more boring that the scooby, as I plan on buying a decent place for myself and my girlfriend when I come back from Singapore, therefore I want to have a cheaper car to purchase, insure and run, so I can spend my money on other things. I like the Mondeo ST220's and hopefully they will have dropped in price a fair bit in 18 months. Not sure what theyre like to run though. Will look into it nearer the time. In the meantime my 1.8 Focus still does its job as a cheap A2B car.

What? You can get an MPS for £12k now? Seriously?

It was 16k (56 plate 9,500 miles on the clock, it also came with sat nav) i got 4k for mine. But you can get them for 14k if you look hard enough. The guy at the dealership was telling me they are not making them any more since they are not selling. Which IMO is a real shame.

The M5 Is so so so much more Superior then the Monaro in every single way.

Got to love comments like that.. No, the Monaro's glove box is 1.55cubic centimeters bigger... :)

Everyone has different tastes/requirements from a car, so it's a little unrealistic to suggest one car is 'superior' to another in every single way

Personally, the BMW M5 is indeed a great car... But (1) it's a BMW with all the unfortunate image/baggage that entails, and (2) it's a BMW with all the unfortunate image/baggage that entails... :)

I test drove a couple and just couldn't get used to the 'thrashy'/revy nature of the engine... To used to my mid-range pull and a turbo :)

Suspect you'd get used to it though if you drove it a while... Nice handling, and great fun with the roof down...

Wrong ;)

Give it 2 or 3 years and you will be having electrics failing, The smaller motors dieing, Clear coat peeling, the interior pretty much just falling apart.

Holdens have a pretty crap build Quality and you can just expect things to fall off:p

So if you ever buy a holden, make sure you buy some duct tape with it:D

Really  - And you get this chestnut from where?

Also, (3) one is basically twice the price of the other... You can get one of the new 6ltr Monaro's for well under 20k now...

To save £10-20,000 and not drive a BMW... Double bargain :)

I've seen people every day of my life... Doesn't mean I understand them though :)

A friend of mine is a Kiwi and he's owned a number of Holdens, and had no problems... The Monaro also won Top Gear's muscle car award don't forget :)

Did they own it for a couple years though?
Im guessing not, and probably only had it for a week or 2.

Every Auntie and Uncle i have as well as a few cousins all own Australian Holdens, My Uncle managed a Holdern Dealer.
And i will say again that the build quality of Holdens are crap.

Apart from the Novalty of having a V8 with 6Litres, there really isnt much special about it.

One he owned for a good many years and he loved it, until someone went thru a red light and basically totalled it!

If Holdens are so bad then why do all your family members insist on buying them, or selling them :)

EP3 Civic Type R for me next... Only I want it in white, which means a Jap import.

There's a couple for sale on Pistonheads at the minute, but through a certain dealer in Keighley that I wouldn't touch with a dead dog's bargepole.

EP3 Civic in JDM White or Milano Red/Championship white wheels. Very affordable pre-facelift models are about now for ~£8K

Then moving on to a Blobeye Scoob in 2 years or so. Plus the Missus is after an A3.

Why not, have you heard something about them?
