Your next car?

If Holdens are so bad then why do all your family members insist on buying them, or selling them :)

Because you get Holden and Ford Nuts down here.

They seem to pick out problems in every single car but there own.
You can see someone with a smashed up crappy ol holden and he will think your cars **** and his is the dogs balls:rolleyes:

But my family seem to have them because like i said, My Uncle is the manager of what was a Holdern dealer, he was a bit of one of "those" people that love holdens because of it, so when people wanted a car they asked him what to get with out using there own brains:rolleyes:

He managed to talk my nanna into getting a bloody holden Vivia, God damm that korean peice of **** should never have been made:(
Yet because he loved holden, and it had a holden badge, it was "A good car":rolleyes:

You just cant convice those types of people otherwise

Why not, have you heard something about them?

They wanted top dollar for an E30 M3 a while ago, which was rotten and had been in a smash previously, but they told me it was fine before I made the journey to see it... Have heard stories about them otherwise, but nothing I can substantiate so I'm not going to drag their name through the mud in public. Buyer beware as always. If they've got the right car at the right money I guess you can't go wrong, I'd just buy elsewhere if that was the option.

I couldn't tolerate the build quality. It would feel like a downgrade in every way other than performance.

Hmmm... Most of the reviews suggest the build quality is robust, and things like the interior are not as bad as you'd expect...

Guess you'd have to go and look at one...

Personally I just couldn't see myself driving a BMW no matter how well built it is... But then again, this comes from someone who's been driving the same 'Datsun' for the last 13yrs :)

its good to see lots of love for breadvans :)

Me too, after one in about a year or so but MUST have them special edition seats, sooo much nicer than the standard ones for comfort.

No idea what I will get next, probably going to keep my current car for a while (as long as the French build quality doesn't let it down) and spend money on driving improvements/tuition.

I'm about to replace my aging Clio RSi with something a little kinder on my wallet (both insurance and fuel). I'm about to make an offer on an X-reg Peugeot 306 2.0 HDi LX. :)

Well im in two minds at the moment between an X5, or the 335 E92, i have the 320 E92 and love it and would love to be in the 300+ BHP club, but the X5 is just so nice as well (put the flame proof suit on) I don’t have to decide until march so we shall see.

Please dont tell me you went to Keighley Trade Centre or Torque of Keighley?

Ive been to torque of keighley to view a 3000GT...it broke down 4 times on the test drive, had a birds nest in the engine bay and they tried to convince me "all it needs is a new battery mate" when the engine management light, the overheat light etc were all coming on and it was losing revs every 2 seconds.....

I'm not sure what i want next, it changes week in week out....something faster, and rwd......maybe an elise 111R, but its not very practical....or an m3 (who knows, the CSL might be cheap enough by then? bloomin fantastic car!)....that sounds about right :) Or maybe something big and V8 like a mustang, again they shouldve dropped in price...

Tom.

If you would consider an E92 you obviously dont need a 4x4 so buying an X5 is toolworthy :p
I thought anyone who bought an X5 didn't NEED a 4x4! :p

How many dirty/muddy X5s do you see?! Not many!

The only thing putting me of the E92 is that i already have one and the only real upgrade will be an extra 130ish BHP, and a few other bits, the X5 is toolworthy (would be handy for the 2 dogs i have but they fit nice in my mondeo estate) but like you fox, i like big cars i have no need for 2 big cars other than the fact i like them.

Oh please :(

... So dont waste it sitting in a low rent 1.6 litre MyFirstCompanyCar. You've got the rest of your life to finance tediuous family cars.

that is one of the best posts you have ever made fox.

Why not a big car that you can actually take off road with out the fear of getting it dirty?:D

You can take your dogs out and give them a run at some better places they have never been before:)

Edit: Get a Hummer, that way you will have THE BIGGEST car :D

Buy a Land Rover Discovery! I've got one (a Series 2 ES)- they are unbelievably versatile. Tows the horse box, took a 3-seater sofa in the back with the seats down, takes 7 of us to the pub at lunchtime.. :D

It would also go 'off-road' if I wanted it to. Not the quickest machines in the world though, or the most economical either!!
