Ok, I have been offered a MSI 8800 Ultra 768MB for £320 it has a 660MHz core and memory runs at 2300MHz as I am sure you all know with 128 stream processors.

I had been waiting for the £210 Asus GeForce EN8800 GT TOP 512MB with its 700MHz core and memory at 2000MHz with 112 stream processors and of course with one eye on any new GTS info (yeah right!)

I currently have a watercooled ATi 1900XTX 512MB, 4GB Corsair, game at 1680 x 1050 on Vista 64 Ultimate which struggles with Call Of Duty 4 on max and of course struggles even more on Crysis on lower rez and detail settings in the early levels.

I could get the ultra now (yes i am fairly impatient and £320 seems a good price) or do I wait for a GT with the possibility of going SLi next year?

Which performs better and what is your advice? Thanks in advance :D

Fudz is reporting that the D8E is still set for a Jan release so that's maybe worth waiting for if have the ££££ and are currently considering the Ultra.

As Fudz reports, this is set to be the fastest thing NVidia has ever made.

There is no card on the market which can play Crysis maxed out so whats the point in blowing £320 on something that isnt up to the task? Get an 8800GT, it comes within a stones throw of GTX performance for £140 less.
