Need a new north bridge cooler for DFI ultra NF4.

well, as often happens with lan party 4`s my north bridge has given up the ghost and is grinding its way to an early grave. the problem is my GPU board (X1900XT) runs right over it so i need a really low profile north bridge cooler. i have a WC system for my cpu but i dont know what i can buy to cool the NB that wont get in the way of the GPU board.

any tips ?

The Evercool VC-RE Twinkling VGA Cooler (it fits the NF4 fine) was the choice of many people for the NF4 board, I recall it left a 1 or 2mm gap with my 1950xt installed.

chuck a slow 70mm fan on it and watch your chipset tempretures drop by over 10c easy

That's what I put on my friends superb, really low temps and silent.

i cant, there is not enought room as its a DFI board, the GPU boards right out over the north bridge cooler.

Should still be enough clearance though as its the sli version not the standard one

If not then just run the card in the second slot and move the jumpers to sli position so it runs at 8x instead of 2x. No loss in performance as card wont need the full 16x speed.

Got one on my ultra-d with a 7950GT but had to use lower slot due to the gpu cooler (passive ) fouling the cpu cooler. The 7950GT passes over the NB cooler too.
