Hi Folks,

I am looking to get a new PC and after a long time of console gaming I am a bit out og the loop on the hardware side. I am looking to build a PC that comprises of

8800 GTS OC2 320mb
E2180 + good HSF (a good overclocker)
2gb ram
160gb hard drive.

Will a system based on the above system be able to run the newer games like crysis and ut3 at high settings? The above are the best I can stretch to in my budget so there's no spending anymore than they cost.

Thanks

Matt

Ya get a card with a minimum of 512mb of ram, 256 and 320 mb are starting to have probs with games like crysis.

Makes me laugh comments such as the above.

You should say you'll have issues running @ high settings with a card with "low" RAM.

FWIW, Crysis runs very well (& looks so much better than BF2 for example) at low settings on my aged AGP 6800LE 128MB!!!

If your going for an 8800GTS, then spend a few quid extra & go for the 512MB variant, certainly.

Be better off with an 8800GT if you want to run crysis to be honest

I wouldn't say that, I have an 8800GTS 640 OC 2 (Is there a 320mb OC 2 card?)

And i run Crysis on high happily.

Although, it is also true that the GT is cheaper, but can you really wait 4 - 6 weeks :P

Of note though, i do have the Q6600, so maybe that helps with that.
