Vista Install on SATA drives

Guys,

2 new SATA drives and installing Vista.

During the install when Vista asks where do I want to install Vista, it shows both the drives but when I click next it says that Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation.

There are no SATA drivers with the board (Abit Fatal1ty) and I set the SATA to Legacy IDE in the BIOS.

Any ideas?

Which one? There are umpteen boards marketed under that name.

have you tried deleting the partion on one of the drives and recreating it ?

what make are the HDDs?

I had this problem, Vista wouldnt install on my WD AAKS drive for love nor money, so in the end had to install it on a Samsung.

Its ok,

I found the issue.

Lord knows how MS are so crap! They can make XP manage it ok, but Vista? the all singing all dancing POS can't?

Two identical drives must both be set and formatted before installing (or just have one drive installed).
