How does Scotland have free Uni's?

The UK as a whole pay for it, it is not like Scottish people don't pay tax. :rolleyes:
It was originally to encourage more Scottish people to go into further education, we still have less people taking up uni places.
 
Sure Scotland are bringing in laws so people from Northern Ireland and Whales don't have to pay for Scottish unis either lol

just the english will :)

That would give us an extra £19 billion approx going by the Oxford Economics recent report and i dont think we would be complaining about that if we got all taxes that we pay up here outwith the ones we do keep :D

As to the uni fees they aren't completely free as the student grants are currently financed partly through a graduate endowment so currently it isnt all free. Although the SNP has said they will abolish this but nothing yet set up to do this. With the SNP this will never happen going by the broken promises they are piling up on a weekly basis.

Been on news recently, the average English taxpayer pays £600 a year to subidise the extra costs of Scotland

If every one in england played 600 each that adds up to more than what is given to the Scottish government by Westminster.

Scotland has always been a poor country you are going to have to put more money in than comes out it if you expect it to keep up with the rest of the UK.


Dont quote me on this but i think its the same with some parts of england (its just easier to pick on scotland)
 
Maybe instead of having a go at the Scots for spending their money on a free education system, maybe we should be asking why our goverment isnt doing the same thing... how about perscribtions, can we have them free as well please....

Then agaian, maybe if the olympic games hadnt taken 50% of everyone bloody budget, there may have been enough to go around, but hey, keep looking at the scots to pick on instead of looking at what England is doing...
