A while ago my epson photo stylus 2100 started playing up on me and I've finally managed to get it into a shop, they have put it down to needing the print heads replacing which they will do fitted for £150. I'm reluctant to give up on the printer because is cost me over double that few years ago. I'd like any advice people have on what new A3 printers are out there and are recommended at the lower end of the price scale? If its not much more than the price to repair my existing it may be more sensible to go for a new one.

What would anyone else do?

Thanks

I reckon you may get better now as printer prices seem to have dropped recently. Haven't looked at A3 stuff but £150 is fairly steep I reckon to have summat repaired

Ok, So what do people recommend around £150? I've had a look and not really foudn any A3 printers around that mark

I don't think you'll be able to pick up a decent A3 inkjet for £150. If you can stretch to £180 you should be able to get a Canon Pixma ix4000. Better still if you can afford £240 you can get an Epson 1400. The Epson seems best bang for bucks in budget A3+ printers atm. I think the HP Photosmart 8750 has slightly better reviews but it's a bit more expensive and has 6 inks over only 3 carts so inks could get expensive.

I think if I was to go for another printer I'd go elsewhere to Epson, not had good experience, will check out those other ones though, thanks

*Looks at IX4000 next to me* Its a decent printer. Pretty fast, but the drivers are pretty flackey when it comes to using it networked. I don't really use it as a photoprinter (Not with photopaper anyway) so I can't really comment on the photoquality too much, but I know my IP3000 is a great little performer. :)
