Comodo Firewall v3.0 now Vista 32 & 64 bit compatible

Cheers for the heads up, been using version 2.4 here for ages now on XP (its brilliant), wonder if we'll get an update for that, or have to download the new version. :)

EDIT: Just read over at the forums, version 2.4 will update to version 3 automatically when the updates are available. \o/

Anyone used this yet? - verdict?
It's quite good. One possible problem with a dll but I need to leave it for a while I think.

And for the first few minutes after resetting PC cmdagent.exe was at 99% cpu usage. I ended up terminating the process and weirdly Comodo is still running fine.

I just installed this and I am really like it. Definitely quite a few improvements over v2.4. I was expecting it to use more system resources, but infact they have been reduced quite a bit - it's currently using just 11MB memory usage.
When I first restarted my PC after installing Comodo v3, it immediately recognised my LAN and gave me the option to allow all activies on my LAN, which I found nice. This definitely was not included in v2.4.

Yes I noticed that and I likes. Not too sure about resource usage. Never noticed any problems with 2.4 and 3 seems samish to me.

Quite a good evolution of a fantastic product I think. Amazing to think its free!

I'm getting an error message when I install Comodo v3 or when my PC boots into Windows.

"The procedure entry point IsThreadDesktopComposited could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll".

Any ideas what it means and how to fix it? This and the 99% processor usage for cmdagent.exe when I boot into Windows means I'm back to using v2.4 until I can get this fixed.

Try asking on the Comodo forums.

They have a forum? Didn't realise. Thanks, I've just posted on there. Also I've found what looks like a solution to the cpu usage problem.

No problem. About that error message you keep getting, you might find this interesting: http://groups.google.fr/group/micro...general/browse_thread/thread/ffe00f0300aa94f5

If you don't get a reply on the Comodo forums, try posting in the bug section, you will probably get a better reply.. https://forums.comodo.com/bug_reports-b106.0/

Hmm interesting so I need to use that dependency tool on the Comodo v3 installer? How do I know what the culprit is?

I think so. I have never used that "Dependency Walker" so I really have no idea. I just found that thread after a search.
Do you use XP?
It looks like an XP system file has been replaced with a Vista one...

Ah OK. I am on XP yes. Can't understand for the life of me how an XP system file has been replaced with a Vista one. I'll try it now and see what I can find out. :)
