Is there any way of filtering out the usual crappy price comparison sites when searching for a product in google as it's getting more stupid by the day?

I'm getting quickly fed up with Google as well. When you try to search for information on something, it fills pretty much the first two pages with shop links.

Tempted to switch to another search engine.

What also annoys me is those stupid websites that come up high on google when you search for product reviews. Yet all the website does is link to another website that actually contains the review. Or "reviews" that just state the product details

What annoys me, is when the comparison sites (ie: Froogle) include eBay in their results.

I would imagine its because they spend a fortune on search engine optimisation. A good way of finding products without the comparison sites is to use google’s own product comparison system. Just click “products” on the google homepage. It will only show data that shops have actually uploaded to google, which is good because it generally means its accurate, and theres loads on there as its free for the shops.

Me and a mate very having the exact same discussion earlier today about Google and them wave of shopping links it throws up.

Has anyone tried the new Ask ??
