I think Scolari is ready to leave the portuguese team:)
he is very, very angry with some criticism from the pt public and pt newspapers

after the game with Finland,yesterday

( sorry it´s in portuguese,but he´s expression tells all)

If he can't handle criticism from the Portuguese media, how can he ever handle the British media?

What happened though?

eheh

he is very offended, because he feels all that criticism from the portuguese, has everythingh to do over the fact that José Mourinho is free to take over the team now

and in fact,he has some reason, because, after Mourinho is free from the previous job, a lot of people here are letting show theyr preferences for Mourinho....

so,he is " green" with anger, cause he has some personal problems with Mourinho- in reality they do not cant stand one to each other:)

I can't see any of the Italians taking the job. Capello would do a good job though but England fans will get sick of his style even if it meant they were winning again.

It will be no surprise when they hand over the job to another mediocre manager. Cue door for O'Neil.

I'd love to have Jose take the job but that is never going to happen any time soon. Its just the medicine they need.

I really wouldn't mind Capello's style of football if it means we have a good chance in the world cup. The one thing we do have is good defenders and if Capello can get us keeping clean sheets again the defence wouldn't be a bad place to build our team around.

According to the BBC Mourinho has ruled himself out of becoming the next England boss. Not really a suprise, iirc he did say a while back that he wanted to manage at club level for a few more years then take the Portugal job, i doubt he would have been considered for the job anyway.

Hmm... there aren't actually any quotes in that article from Mourinho. It's all some Radio 5 chap.

I don't think it's realistic either, but I wouldn't rule it out completely until the man himself has commented.

Can't believe how many people want Shearer to be next in line, almost as many as Capelo! :p This from a guy who has never even coached at any footballing level before, let alone manage.

Bizarre.

but shearer can teach the current generation the classic football move that could help us a lot , its called, "the elbow".

but honestly, it can be used on and off the pitch. imagine, SWP gives away the ball again, shearer calls him over, stands alongside him telling him to not do it again and waving his elbow close to SWP's face(he'd have to bend down a bit), SWP will be scared into playing better. it could work ¬_¬

i voted for somewhere else, don't want moaninho at all, he's overated and won't cope well with changing situation of players and injuries and he's just a pratt.

hiddink i would think would be good but didn't vote for him as, i can't see the FA being smart enough to wait till after next summer, and theres barely a good available manager till next summer, so can't see hiddink ever getting the job.

only english fans would see england as a good job now in comparison to russia in a major cup. we need a scolari(maybe), hiddink, or you know, get just someone whose won the damn world cup before whose proven to be good. I think wenger and fergie could both get england very far but can't see either taking the job and being arsenal, don't want wenger to leave as i can't see who'd replace him. mostly because i can see those two managers playing who they want and not who the public want. Fat sam, pearce, coppell, curbishley, pardew, redknapp, would all be terrible choices, just not anywhere near the footballing quality that would be needed. curbishley was an unknown, he was at a club with no money for so long and had to buy budget players and just stay afloat as his goal. but he went to west ham, had some major money, made some ok buys, made some terrible terrible buys, and really has shown he's not good enough. for the money he spent and the squad he has he's doing badly.

joking aside, can't see a single reason to believe that shearer would do anything but make a fool of himself in the job.

Guus Hiddink seems to be able to take seemingly rubbish teams and turn them good, eg South Korea and Australia. But as already said it's unlikely he'll get the job.

Cannot believe two people voted Sven, they should be exiled to Greenland.

After thinking about this for a couple of days I'm really coming round to the idea of Klinsmann being the best man for the job. Ok he's German, but I think the situation has got bad enough. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

England lack discipline and work ethic at times, and that's what the Germans have in spades. I really think he could give the England setup what it's missing and has been missing for years. The Germans have been very successful in the passed with arguably less than great players. Maybe they have something to teach us that we’re yet to understand.

I also think that Germany and England are far more culturally compatible that people first think, and it would be a much better match than a fiery Latino such as Capello or Mourinho.

I just hope that if he is selected the media don't spoil it by undermining him for all the usual xenophobic reasons.

I would go with Capello, at the very least, being Itallian he might be able to sort out of shocking defence, but not sure what the media/fans would be like if we went about winning every game 1-0.

Klinsmann is looking like a good option, and for the reasons above.

It would be nice for whoever is selected to be able to pick their own coaching team, as its impossible for a manager to get on well with a ready made team who dont know their style and vice versa.

Its got to be a caretaker i'd say Peter Taylor or Staurt Pearce and if Pearce does ok let him stay, I doubt if anyone would **** with Stu he eats nails for breakfast
