2900GT or X1950?

Seriously why didn't you spend the extra to get the 3850?!

I assume that the pc your building is capable of running a 2900GT?! (serious question as they consume as much power as the 2900xt)

Yup, would have got a C2D and overclocked, and got the 3850 (at least!). You could have spent between £50-70 on a C2D rather than about £160 for the Q6600. Cancel the order or make changes to it if I were you ASAP. The 2900gt may be a good budget card, but the 3850 will be MUCH better. You could even reach for the 3870 with 512mb and have a very quiet card with 2900xt performance and half the power consumption. You really don't need the quad in that build.

The 3850 is roughly 40 percent quicker than the 2900GT accross the board. Well worth the little extra imo. (it also consumes a lot less power and I would imagine quieter (mine is silent))

For reference you say your sister wants to play UT3 well:

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/amd_rv670_performance_preview/page10.asp

That shows the performance difference between the 3850 and the 2900gt in UT3.

(it should be noted that from that review UT3 is the only game that the 2900gt actually performs quite well in, at most other times its around X1950pro performance)

Also the Q6600 will be massive overkill for the uses your sister will get out of it. Get a nice E6550 for 110 quid and if required overclock it.

Yea give them a call. If it hasnt been shipped yet it won't be a problem. I've dealt with them quite a few times and they were always as helpful as possible.
