Audi RS4: First Impressions

Every Impreza I've ever driven also lacked steering feel.

It's really not a big deal.

Not really, and you do get used to the feel anyway.

Problem is, he's getting out of a GT3 and into an RS4. I can imagine people getting out of, say my wifes A class with it's super light steering and getting into the RS4 and thinking the steering is heavy, with loads of feedback.

housemaster is sort of going the other way and so probably would describe it as a lack of feel.

I'd say in a couple of months, he'll forget what the GT3 felt like and be used to the RS4 feel :)

Vol - I'm not sure whether you're agreeing or disagreeing with me.

I just think it's no big deal (the lack of feel compared to what you get in a Porsche or a BMW). Sure you notice it at first - but soon enough you forget it and get comfortable with what you've got.

HI there

Very nice car, liked the RS4's I drove and its certainly ideal for the current condition of the roads which is mainly cold and wet.

I officially hate you!

lol just kidding! :)

Lovely car there mate.

Will be looking at the S4/RS4 when I eventually upgrade in a few years time. Would be a nice step up from the A3 3.2 I have now.

Would love to see the difference between an RS4 and my 2007 A4 S-Line SE as that is hard as hell but I kinda like it. Also, the feeling isn't quite there on mine either but its still good to drive, so I reckon you'll get used to it.

Going on that picture however the colour doesn't suit it at all.

Agreed, and my next car will NOT be silver/black as my last 3, and my wifes current A4 are and have been silver black:eek:

I bought this car as a mile eating tool not my pride and joy so was more focused on getting the right car for the right money really, and was flexible on colours.

I am not sure the SE has big wheels or sports suspension like the S-Line, this is what makes it even worse (the S-Line), it really is poor on this front. The steering is very different on the normal A4's to the RS4, they feel like completely different cars.

Sorry should have been clearer, mines the A4 S-Line Special Edition, with 18" RS4 alloys (possibly the inch smaller tho, same style) 220BHP 2.0T, its the follow up from the 2006 DTM edition A4 minus the quattro and Ricaro as standard.

Ah ok, much the same as my wifes then. Clarkson actually summed it up well when he said "the Audi feels like a car that is trying to stamp every lump and bump back into the ground". Describes it quite well I thought, and yes the RS4 is on 19's and it actually sits higher than the S-Line too.

Heading down to Dartmouth now for weekend so will see how it goes on a long run and see if I can get the MPG above the current 14.

Haha he couldn't have been any more correct. I love it though, although it makes my girlfriend feel sick!

Luckily for you, so is the CSL :D

Housey in a 4WD, never thought I'd see the day :( Still, at least it'll be much quicker through the bends than everything else... ;) :D

Much quicker and that's a fact any scooby or Evo forum will 'confirm' that ;) might have the front diff removed after some beers tonight

21.9mpg to Dartmouth and this response is via my iPhone how sad is that!
