Been playing Cod4 for a week or so now and I love it. Graphics are amazing. I convinced all my mates to get it for their xbox or ps3.

So, my mate brings his ps3 round with a new copy of CoD4. He thinks it looks amazing. I think it looks rrrrruubbish.

I was close to buying an xbox for things like forza cos I like my driving games and know a few people that play xboxlive.... But for such "powerful" machines I'm not impressed and will probs spend some cash on a new gfx card!

So, when switching from PC are there ANY titles really worth going for on the 360?

It depends if all you're bothered about is pointless graphics or gameplay.

In other words; yeah there are tonnes of games worth going for on the 360.

Halo 3, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Assasins Creed, to name but 4.
 
I bought a 360 a few weeks ago, beginning to regret it tbh. Halo 3 is boring, CoD4 looks iffy as its not at my monitors native res, Pro Evo 6 looks much worse than on my PC. Crackdown is quite good fun though.

Should have sold my CPU and GPU, bought a Q6600 and an 8800GT and pocket the extra £100 instead of buying an Elite.

There are plenty of cracking games you can get for the 360.

I like pc gaming, but not as much as the old console gaming. :D

For me , console gaming is a lot more chilling - just lay on a big sofa playing games...brilliant!!

Also the achievements sound crap, but they are pretty addicting and extend the life of your games loads :)

I been wanting to see how they directly compare for ages. Is there difference really that apparant?
 
I love my pc and 90% of my gaming time is spent on the pc, but i do have a 360 for the odd game that isn't out on pc, if i have a choice between both then the answer will always be pc,

But just by posting this you will get flamed by all the sony and MS fanboys who loathe pcs that much that they browse the pc forum just looking for an opportunity to say how better their box is

Well, I can only go by the PS3 version. And to be honest, what I've seen on there so far isn't exactly enticing.

Fifa 2008 looks terrible and feels like slo-mo.

CoD4 looks iffy. Perhaps on a HiDef screen it would look a bit better but I can't see if would improve the gameplay THAT much.

The most fun we had was playing my PS2 copies of Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur 2...

I think maybe I expect a £300 console to do too much? Plus, FPS games REALLY need a mouse and keyboard for any kind of fluid gameplay. Joypads are jerky imo. Great for "arcadey" games of racing, but to me, no good for FPS.

Perhaps someone could post a pic of CoD4 on a decent LCD screen (same sort of pic from Xbox and Ps3 just to give me an idea of the graphics) ?

If they have valid points, I'll accept them. I'm just voicing my opinion, which I'm allowed to have. It's a PC forum essentially. For discussion. I'm not trying to rub people up the wrong way.
 
get the best of both worlds

have a console and the PC

there are plenty of exclusive titles on both the PS3 and the 360 that make them worth their merit on their own. Granted less so on the PS3, but that will change as the development community gets into the swing of programming for core and the number of exclusives (like the long promised GT5, new Metal Gear Solid etc..) come.
