Your next car?

Assuming your Mini is a 2005/05 Mini One with 25k miles on it, it has a top book trade value of £8.5k right now, today.

To expect it to be worth more than this a YEAR from now is very, very foolish.

I'm sure we will. After all, you know best.

Don't be daft its his best mate mini dealer with the crystal ball who knows best ;)

West can you ask him how much my Octavia will be worth in 2 years time? *crosses fingers that it will go up in value too* :p

a guy at Mini still rates my car at around 8.5-9k so once I get the loan down to that next year im selling it on..

friend or not, I'd expect a Mini dealer staff member to say something like that, the market says otherwise.....

Thinking about a Mazda 6 MPS next year, looks good, decent performance and not that expensive, will have to see though :)

Nice compromise! Looks sensible, but still goes!

Wonder if you can get an induction kit/exhaust for it and add another 30hp to it :)

Actually thinking along the lines of this now:

Heavy duty 383 performance top end

........Plus EFi (or maybe just a phat carb), a 4 speed auto tranny, reworked rear end, nicely seasoned block, few trick coatings, full balance, full cage and more.

Should be able to do it for a very reasonable price.

Would hope to attain around than 800-1200BHP from an assembly like that, with a few more parts.

Guess I'd consider doing something to the brakes as well.

Maybe.

And I guess you do?

Now, I've been very careful in this forum to never, ever, ever claim I know everything, or indeed, even know lots - prefering to leave it up to everyone else to make their mind up.

I will make an exception just this once to go out on a limb and say if push comes to shove, yea, I think I know a little more than you do about the value of used cars :p

Something about doing that to a Sprint seems awesome in my head :D

Nothing terribly exciting for me I'm afraid, bigger and better house come first.

Probably either a Clio 172/182 or maybe Fox's suggestion of a 328ci. (I'll still keep the Elise though)

As much as I... 'Respect' your knowledge Fox.. but it just seems like that you always feel the need to rub it in certain peoples faces.

Who'd you think I would trust more? my best freind or someone on an internet forum?
