Cheers - told the boss as Vista is new and Office 2007 is new, then its the right one, he seems happy enough now :)

Its 2003 with a vista interface lol

Some changes, mainly being the interface, and erm.......

well i dunno what else lol

Will take a short re-adjustment period to get used to though if your used to working with 2003.

There's plenty of changes in 2007. Word, for example, can now take care of referencing, citations, bibliographies and contents pages, and PowerPoint has a range of updated graphics and templates.

Woah! I'll take two copies!

In all seriousness, the subtle changes that have been made aren't bad, but it doesn't warrant an upgrade if you already have 2003.
But, if you're buying new, might as well get 2007.

I wouldn't say the few changes I've mentioned are 'subtle', at least not for the sort of thing I do. If I can make writing essays (and my dissertation) easier, and make my presentations look more professional, it's got to be worth the money!

Only minor thing I can think of is 2007 by default, saves Word documents in the .docx format which can't be opened or read by previous versions of Word.

You do however, get the option to "Save As.." a 2003-On compatible doc, i.e. a plain .doc format.

a patch for 2003 (and 2000 i think) is available from microsoft.com that allows them to read docx files.

i would presume this is available for other office programs like excel and access.

just go into options and change the default save file format to office 03 or whatever ye like, that's what i do cause my school is on 03
