weekend football spoilers thread 24/25 Nov

there must be some kind of curse on Newcastle.... :/ they just never got going. Liverpool made it look like a training game - they werent even forced into top gear just a leisurely destruction of Newc.

he must have got man of the match for being the newcastle player to actually shoot a few times. seems one thing was missing from newcastle, that was a right wing? up till the goal in what 30 mins in smith basically never was on the right. the whole liverpool left flank in their half was empty of newcastle players completely, for 30 mins the ran up the left side of the pitch with 3-4 players against geremi, it was unbelievable that fat sam couldn't work that out at all.

is it possible its not fat sam's fault though? it occured to me they always show, is it ashley, the owner/director or whatever, with a smith shirt on. maybe he simply bought Smith and is forcing him to play him. you've got to think he could do less damage to the team as a striker though and might get a couple goals eventually, than play him on the right giving the team no right wing at all and leaving their right back completely exposed. whoever was left back aswell, he was constantly hitting the ball without looking up, few crosses went miles from a newcastle player, he just gave up couldn't be bothered and booted it by the looks of it. either way, thats my 36p accumulator for the weekend down the drain on the first game :p had a £52k return , hehe, its more fun when i lose my accumulator with at least a few games gone.

really wish we(arsenal) had bought babel, he looked immensely powerful on the wing. bounced a couple players off him on a 30 yard run and almost scored, he looked as good in that game as he's supposed to be.

Torres had an off day finishing wise, wont complain considering scored he's fair share of tougher chances so far this season. Sissoko was as normal poor, makes you laugh how his legs do one thing, the rest another and never what the eachother wants.

Other than that happy enough, even with Newcastle failing to turn up. :p

Poor defending from Pique. Launched himself at the header, missed and took himself completely out of the game.

Game starting to get a little dirty now.

And he won't ever be. For a start he isn't anywhere near as willing to beat players as I expected him to be.

This is something I've commented on and had people always say "He does take players on", I'm glad someone else can see it. He can't pass either. His crossing isn't too bad, and he has a decent shot, but that's it.

Is it a co-incidence that we were winning and scraping games (and being poor) 1-0 without Anderson. He comes in and we score several 4 goal games and play well. He's taken out and again we look terrible in the middle?

Pique is being shown up, but Vidic would be a massive loss to any team in the world. No Ronaldo, No Rooney, No Scholes and No Anderson are also massive gaps and we're being punished because of it. There is only so much Tevez can do on his own as Saha is useless.

newcastle got the 3 dirtiest midfielders in league? butt smith and barton?

come on, what about brown? though they'll probably buy him in january :p

and davies, the bolton one, hasn't he been the player with most fouls commited for like 3 years in a row?

my word, i assumed that man u were dominating and just not finding the goal. bbc stats seems to say possession and shots total and shots on target are in boltons favour.
