Behind you... Naked!
I just placed an order with OCUK, or rather I almost did, for a list of high end PC parts to make up the fastest bugger I can afford, it would have cost well over a grand as you would expect, and then, I saw that they were asking £55 for delivery???

Stuff that!!

I have sent them a webnote with my ... Shall I just say "Distaste" at such an extortionate price, and that I had expected free delivery on such a large order.

I have to say, that I built up the very same order with 3 other of my regular suppliers, and OCUK are not the cheapest, but with that delivery, they were certainly the most expensive.

I would have gone with OCUK had it not been for that.

OCUK...I am disspointed with you I really am.

Surely if you've ordered a shedload of stuff it's going to go in loads of boxes. Have you ever tried to send 4-5 boxes nextday via courier? It isnt free

Agreed. If Id spent £1000 on items Id gladly pay £55 for postage. With things worth that much Id want it to be sent securly and safely, and next day.

By your "spend more, postage should cos less" thinking, does that mean I can order £2000 of stuff, and then OcUK should pay me £55 for the privaledge of delivering it to me?

Come on man, your spending £1000 on PC parts for gods sake! £55 is nothing, stop being a tight arse!

On the other hand, feel free to go to budgetpcshop.com and get your £1000 of goods posted free by Royal Mail second class delivery, and then watch them laugh as you try to claim it all back because half went missing, and the other half arrived in pieces 3 weeks later....

some people...

£55? good lord.

I've actually found OcUK delivery reasonable as of late, they offer Royal Mail which is better for the small items :).

It may aswell be, OcUK will have a contract with City Link which will mean delivery will cost peanuts in the grand scale of things.

Where are you wanting the delivery to?
Most couriers charge an arm and a leg if you're outside of mainland UK, but there is a chance it's a website error if you're talking about a UK delivery, unles you're ordering multiple cases (in which case* it's probably the weight of the multiple boxes).

*No pun intended

Don't be absurd. A competitor is hardly going to send £1000 worth of items via RM 2nd class, they will cover their asses with tracked, insured delivery.

£55 is quite a lot of money for P&P thats a full tank of diesel for most cars so easily 500miles. I would also be put of paying that much for delivery unless it was comming from overseas. Hopefully this is just an error, or you have 3 cases or somthing.

As has been said is more than likely an error of some sort. I just slapped 3 giant Lian-Li PC V2100 PLUS cases for postage and it came to 24 quid next day city link. and that would come in 3 large heavy boxes. what on earth did u order lol.

if however it was not a mistake then it is quite extreme and I would also not of paid it. When other same size companys would deliver for less.

Hm.

Aye's to the right, Naye's to the left.

I can see some peoples point. Yes, I would want secure safe delivery of course I would.

But I have bought many thousands of pounds worth of PC hardware from very many sources, including OCUK, but this is the first time I have been charged so much.

On principle I have gone "Elsewhere" and saved myself the £55 for Delivery, plus £38 because the same order was £38 cheaper.

So, you may very well call me a tight arse, but the fact is, that I was willing to spend that £48 on OCUK over the other source, so I think that was enough dont you?

This is now a difference of £103 - no one here would pay that much more would they?

Editted bit since dave asked...

Consisted of an entire PC setup, minus the KEY,MSE,VDU

Heavy bits are probably the case, gfx and HDS... Everythign else is pretty much light as a fev really

Are you sure? Because I just added a whole heap of stuff to try it out and there were 2 delivery options, the most expensive being City Link Saturday delivery for £22.95
