Not upgraded for a while, been putting it off TBH, but after playing Crysis and a few other games on a friends PC I've decided to go for it.
Been out of PC gaming for about a year or so now so not sure what to go for. Plus I only have about 600 quid to spend so I know I'm not going to get anything top of the range.
Already have a 22" LG TFT, speakers, mouse/keyboard, 2x 250GB Seagates, DVD/CD RW etc etc so I just want the base.

This is what I've come up with myself. Seems decent enough to me, but what do I know? :p

Motherboard - Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650
Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 SLACR
Memory - GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Graphics Card - BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB GDDR3
PSU - OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply
Case - Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case

What do people think? Any opinions would be helpful.

Cheers ;)

How about this, if you want to get it further under 600 you can swap it to a cheaper 8800gt.

It's over becuase of the 4GB RAM (4X1gb) If you take off 2gb it comes to ~£602

Tried to include as much of what you chose as what you chose looked good.

Im not to sure on mobo's and wait for someone else before choosing mobo but I think it's pretty good.

If you want to save a bit of cash then there is this

Cool, so I'm sort of on the right track then looking at both those specs.
I have actually been back and forth between the Gigabyte and Asus boards. Only reason I picked Asus P5N-E is because of reviews I've read on it. Apparently it pretty much comes on par with the P5N32-E SLI NF680i, and for about 60 quid less. Dunno though maybe someone could clear this up?

At the moment, I bet more than 60% of people believe it doesn't make a massive difference. Yes, it will result in a performance increase in certain things (it could be small, it could be pretty big), apparently it's about 60% at like the very most.

But tbh, if you want 60% more graphics power, 9 times out of 10 it's cheaper to just sell your old card and get a new one rather than get a second one.
