*****THE OFFICIAL***** MASS EFFECT THREAD

About 4 hours in myself, still running around the Citadel, doing all the side quests and talking to everyone I can. Love finding out information about alien races, policital situation and history of the whole universe.

Playing a goody at the moment, but man, after seeing all the conversation options, I'm looking forward to playing a bad ass "Shoot 1st, to hell with the questions" character :D

Someone said above how it'll take a long time due to there being loads of planets to visit in each system... well that's just not really the case. Half the systems have no planets that you can land on, and systems that do normally only have 1. Not complaining though because they manage to squeeze so much in :p

Yep, most planets in a system can only be surveyed rather then explored via the mako, so the amount of planets is an illusion. Still I'm more than happy, especially since I've just spotted the Downloadable Content option in the Extra's menu :)

Yeah, I remember seeing all of it and seeing all the planets and it was like "woot!" because I thought you could land on them all, but seemingly not. Although, a good thing... (highlight to view, it's a little spoilerish)

More and more systems, and sub-systems open up as you play the game, meaning you have more planets to land on and explore afterwards. There are also "hidden" asteroids and ships that you can dock with in some systems.

I've been playing about 7 hours now. It's pretty good. The amount of audio dialogue for the NPC's and characters is incredible, as well as all the stuff in the codex.

I'm having good fun being an evil, ruthless commander :D Killing everyone in my path...etc :D

:( doh i thought they were all explorable (i hadnt tried clicking on them, i was just browsing the galaxy map) oh well thats ****** on my chips LOL

fingers crossed feedback will point to us wanting more to explore / addons and they will provide would be a bonus to play through again but with loads more planets / locations to land on.

Amazing game. 12 hours in probably not even half way through the main plot and almost all side quests left to do. The cinematic quality alone is top notch let alone the gameplay. Got up today bout 10am not done anything else but play this amazing game. Been a LONG time since a game kept me hooked like this.

:D

So far I give it;

Gameplay 9/10
Graphics 10/10
Replayability 9/10
Longevity 10/10
Story 10000/10 haha

Why would it? Thats like saying if someone were to give the gameplay a 10/10 it would mean it is like real life.

10/10 graphics means it is the best of the best 'at that time'. I personally would give graphics a 8.5 or 9. because of the texture load times.

Yeah I'd say about 8.5 or 9 for graphics would be right. Aside from the technical issues such as texture loading and framerate the graphics are pretty good, but they're by no means the best the system has to offer. GoW looks a lot better tbh.

Not to nick pick again (sorry) but if you gave it 10/10 gameplay it would be like you were actually in the game and you couldnt tell the difference.;)

Not true at all,if the game has a certain artisitic style that is appealing to the individual then why shouldn't he or she award the visuals 10/10.

Beauty is In The Eye Of The Beholder.

Just kiddin me being jealous, but no more after watching the gametrailer review, mass effect launch trailer and reading about the game on the official site. Ive gone and ordered the limited edition version, at £45 which is a lot, when i could have used my gamer points and got it for £19. But i know its worth every penny.

Questions, sorry if they have been already answered:

1. Male or female, any difference eg stats different

2. What class should i be, i would like to play as a good guy who talks his way out of things unless they really do need to die, in which i would like to blast my way through with cool assault rifles.

3. Whats max level

4. Is it true that theres gonna be 2 more games and that you can take your character across to the next game

5. If the answer is yes to question 4, wont it make your really powerful character win the game a lot easier until you get near the end.

1.Nope

2.Im playing Vanguard you get the cool bio abilities but only get to use shotguns and pistols effectivly. My Team mates do all the heavy shooting.

3.Im sitting at level 37 atm but it goes higher thers awards for getting up to lv 60 so i assume higher than that.

4.No Idea

5. Most likely it will let you copy the appearence of your character and not the stats.

This is the first 360 game in which I have REALLY wished I'd ordered the LE instead of the normal one :(

I'm about Lv 35 or something atm. No idea what the max level is but I'm guessing 50.
Mass Effect is part of a trilogy, but won't the next version take ages to come out? They may have got the foundation for the game laid down but with all that dialogue they'll require etc it may take some time.

I know the load times can be a bit iffy but I'm running it at 1280x768 and there is virtually no jaggies and the way the engine works really suits the game.

Very impressed personally (and yes I have played crysis maxed out). :p
