Just realised we've now got the best defensive record in the league and with Agger coming back things are looking good. Considering we're usually told that we've only got a good defensive record because we play defensively it's also a surprise to see that we've only scored one less than the attack orientated Man United with their vastly superior attacking players.

I must concur with Dan for once

What game were you watching eekfek? Momo broke up more of our own play than Newcastle's

Have to agree, as usual he done his defensive duties but something ive said constantly about him is that he's needs to play to his limitations when he's on the ball and keep it simple. A couple of times yesterday he tried clever passes which he's just not capable of doing, the step-over in the first half where he stepped on the ball and knocked it out for a throw made me laugh.

I feel sorry for Momo because prior to his shoulder injury last year he was proberly our best player (and along with Carra the season before that too) but when he came back we had signed Mascherano and his form has meant there has been little chance for Momo to get a run in the side and get back to what he was doing prior to the injury.

seriously he had a decent game, sure he managed to tackle himself and put the ball out of play, but he impressed me yesterday with hard work and getting involved all over the midfield.

Sure it seems fashionable to bash Momo and like i've said in another post when he plays well give him credit, seems fair.

Probably :p

And played one less game ;)

momo does disrupt play though, but he doesnt really do much else. yea its good that he chases the ball about a lot too, but he just looks like a dosey-dog when hes doing it, charging after the ball, gets it, loses it. Rest of team were impressive, apart from finnans appauling cross.. it was right up their with momo's stepover and torres' general finishing that day.

my source tells me somethings up.

*edit i don't really have a source. apart from fm 2008 of course. rafa is totally being sacked in that.

I bet the owners are waiting on our results over the next two CL games, before they decide on how much money Rafa gets and whether he stays or goes.

With the JM and Rafa situation it just goes to show who the real power lies with.

There are a lot of similarities between what went on at Valencia and what's going on at Liverpool but I'm confident he'll stay. He's apparently got quite a big payoff written in to his contract so I doubt they'll want to sack him and I doubt he'll want to quit and give up that payoff.

I've no doubt there are some problems that need to be sorted but most of it is just the media **** stirring.

Don't think much of that statement. They've offered no support for Benitez despite the rumours of him leaving. It's basically saying we'll decide his future when we come over which will probably be based on whether we progress in the Champions League or not. If that is the case and we don't qualify they'll have to look for someone who's more successful in Europe over the past few years than him. Not going to happen.
