Okay, i recently bought a lovely new 26" LCD HD TV, its a beauty, but i cant get to see its real quality when watching normal channels.

I have bought a booster, i can get some reception, but its **** poor quality to be honest..

Im really struggling on what to do next.

This is what i got: MAGIC WAND Portable / TV Freeview Signal Booster Aerial

I bought it from the bay.

Any help would be grateful appreciated, im thinking something like a freeview box but i know for a fact that you need an ariel to get one of them working.

What do i do?!

Are you using the digital or analogue tuner in your tv?
On mine the analogue picure was awful yet my digital picture was great for some reason.

The Tv dosnt have freeview, when i press the channel button i get the following:

PC
HDMI
TV
AV1
AV2
SVIDEO1
SVIDEO2
SCART1
SCART2
YPBPR

time to buy a digibox me thinks;)

And this is?

Sorry im a bit ignorant on this digital thing... i dont know much about it, sorry, i know that we are all turned over by 2011 or something close to that time, and i know we will all need to buy something new but what is that..

Google to be honest, do you know any good ones?

Do you know anything about them?

Do you need an antenna/ariel for one?

My msn is in my trust if it makes it any easier to talk.

Cheers,

James.

You need a freeview box, just plug your antenna into it to receieve digital channels.

Everything you need to know is here:

Sorry if this comes across as rude but did you read my original post?

I had to buy a booster... I dont have an ariel in the house none of the TV's in the house can get reception, downstairs has sky, my mums is on an portable ariel as its a small TV and my sisters is on Virgin Media..

I cant get an ariel, i cant drill or anything like that so i need to do it a different way.

If you carn't get a good picture with you TV's now I really wouldn't bother with a freeview tuner as they arn't working at full strength yet so you still need a good signal.

With a weak signal a freeview digital picture will break up and freeze or if it's so weak it won't even find the channel, with analogue you just get a poor picture.

May I ask why you carn't have an outside aerial as that would certainly help.

I bought an external aerial last week for £20 and stuck it in the loft and my reception is perfect infact I prefer the analogue tuner over my TV's built in tuner.

Well the loft is around 8-9 feet high so i cant get up there, never been up there, my mum dosnt know anything about the loft in this house, and apparantly we dont have one in the hosue and i wouldnt know where to fit it, and my mum wouldnt be happy with me drilling through the ceeling.

You can pay for one to be fitted on to you house, fully inclusive of the equipment & installation for under £100 from what I've heard.
