Just a random thought... please do excuse my crap :p

So, a third of englands population relies on benefits these days.. (i think) and i was thinking, IF, we stop all benefits they wont have any place to get money, and if we lower the minimum wage.... we can do something similar to what china is doing, we can give them a place to stay in return for ultra cheap labour !,

What an amazing idea, kids will learn morals, and want to learn hard to get there family out of poverty, the honest working familys will have have there money and things can only look up !

what are your thoughts on this :p

Also no shipping from china is needed!

all people should work if they can, and disabiltys are not always an excuse to not work either
 
Good idea if you want to back to the 18th century. Bring back slums, the class system, sending poor kids down the mines etc etc.

If Britain is to move forward as a country we must pay more tax. I realise this is a fact many of you don't want to hear, but look at the countries with the highest standards of living, they're all in Scandinavia and they all pay something in the region of 60% tax.
 
what makes you think they would stay in school to get a good job if money is so bad at home? they would escape as early as possible and get low paid job that just about does it. instead of sticking with the extra years/qualifications and getting a better job etc.

hell most do that now. nothing would change :)

I'd be prepared to do that. But first the government has to stop ******* the money they already have down the toilet at every available opportunity.

When you take into account stealth taxes are we not already paying that much?
 
well take china for example, they are doing great, the whole family is working hard to put there child though the education system, and the child knowing that works up to get a well paid professional job to put the family out of misery !. well tahst the scinario that im hoping to get from each family...

So you're advocating a one child per family rule too? And China is not doing so well as you would think: there are still tens of millions in poverty and an awful human rights record.
 
I believe those on empyloment benefit (after 6 months) should be made to work for the council unless they can prove they have an interview.

Admin tasks, street tasks, anything.
 
China aren't doing great socially. Abolishing benefits would be awful, of course there are people who abuse the system but it doesn't mean they should be abolished.

And to back scorza up, he's right, we do need to pay more tax, sorry to **** all over your parades here. Conservative attitudes, reductions in tax and a conservative government will only hold our country back while the rest of Europe advances (socially) tbh.

You mean make 99% of us equally poor with a massive state structure trampling on us, like most socialist countries end up as?
