Been Burgled

There you go then, it's the landlord!

Have you asked him about it and made the point that it's very dodgy that this happens after he's had a sneaky look through your belongings? Phone the police and tell them that he was sneaking around your room when you weren't there.

Wrong person my friend :p

Im not really bothered due to the fact im insured but I am impressed how they got in it also looks like they actually bought some replacement beading with them that was the exact fit of the window so they must have been round to measure up earlier.

Sounds like you feel priviledged to have been burgled by burglers with some intelligence (if that's what it is) :p

but seriously

Unlucky mate, hope you get it all sorted.

That makes no sense. Are you seriously suggesting the thief stood outside your window with your Dell Widescreen tucked under their arm and fixed up your window for a few minutes rather than just legging it?

No burglar is going to fix the window after. It's someone you know.

Definitely agree with this statment. It doesn't serve them any good to fix your window. All they would be interested in doing is get what they came for, and getting out fast.

It's someone you know. :(

I can't even figure out why someone you know would want to fix the window after nicking your stuff. They clearly have no respect for you if they're pocketing your property in the first place.

random neighbour looks out, see's robber going through window, risk, but its not that long a space of time. robber leaves and 2 seconds later neighbour looks, see's window missing, knows they are away, calls police, happen to have a car cruising by the road, see's a dodgey guy in a van with a mask on. anything to increase time between get away and finding out there was a crime = better. replacing a window which could take seconds can hide evidence of a crime so its completely plausible a burglar would replace the window. of course, if an alarm is going off, there seems little point, what trips the alarm, ask the neighbours about the alarm and if they heard it. maybe the landlord did it.

as others have said, why would someone he knows replace the window? theres not a single reason that someone he knows would replace the window, over someone he doesn't.

also, why would he take a screen, and not the xbox which is clearly sellable, easily, and the hard drives would have been easy to take. break in, take one thing, instead of 4, seems really stupid.

People seem to be trying to convince me the window hasnt been removed, it has definately been removed as there was no other way in or out of the house. Our neighbours were stood outside on the street so theres no way they got out through the front door, the back door was deadlocked from the inside and all of the windows were locked from the inside.

I know it wasnt any of my housemates as I know where they were at the time the alarm went off.
The landlord is starting to look more lightly that was the scene of crime guys first thought due to the window being put back together.
As someone said above the crime wasnt noticed for nearly a day and a half due to the fact there was no obvious sign of brake in until you really start looking at the window.
Also as people have said what different does it make weather the person knew me or not when it comes to replacing the window, I cant see them thinking "Oh I'm going to nick my mates kit and trash his stuff but its ok I'l replace his window because im feeling nice" and people think im being silly :p

Well, If they replaced the window, then it wouldnt look like they broke in?

The amount of crimes that are successesful merly by pretending to be a workman and silly.

to anyone else, the robber mya have just looked asif he was fitting / replacing the window, where as if he merly smashed it in, climbed through then fled... alarm bells are ringin willy !

I bet one could get away with a load of stuff my impersonating workman! '

Yes, im here to take this ATM machine back tot he depot for repairs'
lol

unlucky though, still hope you get it sorted mate!

Well with your housemates accounted for, it cant be them.

Is the bathroom window at the rear of the house? How do you get to it? Someone must have knew that the window was externally glazed. must have knew how to take out the unit and replace it back again without anyone really noticing. It is common that people have this done to them. When asking the neighbours, they just think that you are having a unit replaced by a workman.

However, with the window being externally glazed, around the edge of the unit there is double sided foam tape as said before. This holds the bead secure in place when its knocked it. Either the bead has'nt been fitted properly or who ever fitted the window left it in such a way that it could be taken out easily.

Landlord could be to blame.

It does sound a little dodgy to me...
