See, it's almost my 360's second birthday, so I was going to buy it a party hat and cake for being reliable and obedient, given that I treat it horribly. However I can't find the receipt, so I'm just wondering when the official UK launch date was as I purchased mine 2 days after that date.

Aha, top man! Tried googling but half the sites were blocked off here at work :/ I shall post pics of the celebrations if I remember! :D

Lol no probs dude, you best just remember!

This would be a comical post then! :p

give me your email, ill remind you!!

2nd of December is also the rumoured fall dashboard update date.

Also... 2nd of december, 2nd b'day for the 360 in europe, odds of the video download service on this day too? Wouldn't guess against it.

Ah 2nd December 2005, I remember it well.

Stayed in all day for a courier that didn't come till the evening, I then wasted 2 hours scouring the land for a VGA or component cable to no avail.

Serves me right for cancelling my premium pre-order then deciding I actually did want a 360 then all I could get was a core and had to buy all the extra gubbins.

Fun times!

DONT DO IT!!!!

putting anything on your 360 might cause it to red ring. Certainly not a snug fitting hat :p
I've already placed a slice of pizza (Vegetarian Hot One) in its dvd tray but it wasn't feeling too peckish. It was to reward the 360 for managing a solid 14hr session of Oblivion without locking up or crashing. Guess I never got a proper pic of it in the tray.

I remember setting up pre-orders back during the run-up to launch day in approx 17 different UK retailers hoping I could get that magic email stating that I had one reserved for me. No luck. Until an old mate of mine got in touch and told me that he could get one if I paid a bit more. In the end I paid £380 for mine, and I gave my mate £100 for the hassle. It was well worth it :)

I did exactly the same. I decided very last minute I did want one and managed to snag a Core from *blah de blah's* special last minute secret page.

One problem was it all didn't come and I was left without a HD for the whole w'end... Boy did I play that first bit of Kameo a lot!

Bought mine 2 months ago, pretty much a 2 year old console

I wonder if there will be any freebies on XBLM?

Kainz, is your Xbox 360 a veggie?

Ah I remember pre-ordering 2 way back in Spring on 2005, I got both and sold one on ebay for £520 almost 100% profit which paid for my other 360.

I remember waiting in and they came just before I had to leave for work at 2pm only got back home at 10pm then I unpacked it and setted it up and played all weekend.

The old girl is still going strong.

I remember plugging my 360 into our 28" Sony Wega crt screen downstairs and immediately getting the 3 or 4 RLoD because the A/V cable wasn't in properly. In a period where failing 360's in America were rife I utterly bricked myself thinking mine was dead. Those who had failed 360's during Xmas were pretty much screwed for replacements.

PGR 3 was the first title that went into the 360's mouth. It looked amazing, and I remember thinking to myself "leaving PC gaming was a good move". I never regretted that.

Yeah, PGR3 was my first game, went to a supermarket at midnight to buy it, was a great game.
