New toy :-) (ZX10)

Hey guys...

Don't post here much but thought id share as im quite excited..

Had so many bikes over the years including -

TDR 250
KR1 250
VFR400
ZZR 600
R6
R1
Hayabusa
TL1000R
ZX12R

The ZX12 was 40k miles and getting tired and tbh starting too feel boring on the twisties... so today popped down to local kawasaki dealer and picked up this mint 06 ZX10R with only 5k miles on it. Gave a nice trade in on ZX12 and supplied / fitted alarm as part of deal.

Apparently they redline at 105mph in 1st, sounds a lot of fun, pick up tomorrow cant wait!

...not ridden one yet but should be pretty exciting with 180 odd bhp and 600cc class weight.

Immediate jobs to do will be crash bungs, double bubble screen, hugger and maybe some pipes.. though the police these days don't like noisy bikes so might go stealth and keep standard.

I picked one up for my mate last year & span it out for a few hours. One of the Easiest & most comfortable bikes I've ever ridden. (I'm Long)

Yup.

Awesome bike, too much of a handful for me IMO, but it's a beast of a bike, I love 'em! They are quite a handful when pushed, but by the sounds of things you know what you're doing.

Change the cans, as long as they are legal, and have the baffles why not do it!

I miss my bike, I need to get myself a new bike!

Yep about right lol can get upto 90 in first if i was red lining my Gixer 750.

yeah, think Kawasaki kept 1st gear tall to keep it on two wheels easier and keep drive managable from standstill (not that it won't do crazy wheelies i'm sure

). It still will get into the low 10s for standing 1/4 though even with that ratio ....takes a lot of cash to get that acceleration from a car so it's good value imho and great for poor adrenelin junkies like me :cool:

GF prefered black lol, but only good green one I found had akro system and I was worried about neighbours ears bleeding

Akros aint as loud as i thought, know plenty of lads that can pass the sound tests on track days of 105db with full akro systems with baffles removed, just use the baffles in them for early mornings

Most of my non-biker mates always find it hard to believe that many 1000cc sports bikes will do over 100mph in first gear

There's nothing quite like spending only few grand on a bike that can do 60 in 3.5s and get to 100 before most cars can even get to 60

WTH did they do with the 2008 ZX10, the pipe looks like it came off a 60s superbike.

Everything about it is wrong lol, if they changed the exhaust and front end it would be ok, but when you look at the 2008 ZX10R compared to new gixxer, R1, Ducati or even the new KTM sportsbike its going to sell badly lol.

These pics dont do it justice, it looks much much worse in person lol will post a pic later from NEC of it.

Dam ugly but not seen one in flesh. Imagine being a pillion, the rear seat is as tall as screen... I suspect it will lower a lot with passenger, but even still, I'd pass a offer of a lift

Lool, it wont take passengers, they will be to embarrassed

looked like the kawasaki guys at the NEC knew it looked fugly aswell as they had the best looking girls posing in front of their bikes to compensate
