Top Gear Returns Sunday 7th October

I always pause the TV and start watching TG at 20:10.

This means I can fast forward through Star in a crappy overpriced car.
I'd like to see more racing drivers on there, giving them their own board to compete on.

Better than last week, the flooded cars was good, but, I have to admit, I'm finding it harder to spare an hour for Tg on a Sunday night, not enough car features, too much "look at us presenters, were sooo funny & great"

TG is not what it was, and, I'm starting to get a bit fed up of it.

A motoring program it isn't anymore tbh.

I think if it was a dedicated motoring program it would loose the comedy element that keeps so many people coming back. Thats why i watch it and never watch 5th gear, I'm not interested how a micra handles while driving to ASDA etc. Maybe if they showed a few more hot hatches and a few less super cars it would be a good move. But i didn't like it when they would all drive round in some boring cars and then compare.

I was going off topgear a few eps back but now it seems to be getting back to its old self. Really good ep, had our whole house laughing even my mum.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but found out some interesting about *** Eurofighter episiode, they had to do 4 or 5 takes of it, as on the first take the Eurofighter went vertical to a mile and back before the Veyron had even done its first mile leg, in the end they had to take it off about 10 miles, then bring it back in so it just beats the Veyron

Jeremy Clarkson reviews a normal car and learns something important.

However, in the course of that journey, I had an epiphany. I was exposed to something cruel and unusual. Something I’ve not experienced for 20 years or more. I believe it’s called the real world.

I’ve often wondered why there are so many people out there who hate cars, who find them noisy, dangerous, antisocial and unbecoming of a civilised state. Some of these people, for sure, have frizzy hair and eat only leaves, but others are, apparently, quite normal.

I can understand they might not find driving fun but I cannot understand why they won’t accept that the car, at the very least, is a useful tool. Or rather, I could not understand until I tried that Mazda.

Reason why star in a car is usually rubbish its because its always to pimp a book, video or show. Get more people on there who want to beat other people and enjoy cars / racing. As said above - its been a while since a true driver has been on there. Would be nice to see more F1 / GP2 / Oldies (Hill etc) going around in the new car :)

I always skip through the Star in a reasonable priced car now, can't stand the celebs. As for showing either supercars or normal cars, I'm all for them showing supercars, cars that we don't see or experience everyday. I'd also like them to devote more time to non-oil powered cars, showing new technology and techniques if possible

Why don't they invite more racing drivers instead of celebs, would be interesting to see a comparison between touring car, rally and F1 drivers.

There are always events like that though, Race of Champions, karting etc. It's not really that interesting. :(

I would rather like to know what cars professional drivers have than knowing that Cowell has a Rolls Royce in every city he has a house in.

That together with seeing the different driving styles different racing drivers have, a bit like the different line thru the first corner the F1 drivers (Webber and Button) take compared to the Stig.

Yea, it is intresting to see the different line took by the F1 drivers compared to the Stig and the celebs that he tells them to take.

Im with Dutch Guy, they should get more range of drivers on there. Ex pro drivers, rally and touring car drivers. With thier different machines, it would be intresting to see how each of them go round the track, see whos fastest.

I bet the rally drivers would hang it all out on the line. Thrash that poor Lacetti around :p

Btw, do they only publish the extra bits of the pervious weeks show on a monday? Never watched one, would be good to see what its like.

What I propose, then, is a ban, on any derestricted road, for any car that does not have at least 150bhp under the bonnet. This way, you won’t hate me for trying to get past in my Lamborghini and I won’t hate you for being in my way. By keeping us apart, it will make Britain a kinder, more understanding place. And in addition, it will remove the single biggest danger on the roads today: big differences in speed.

Legend.

Hmmm.... where did you get this information from? I saw footage from a handheld cam from someone that was there, and it seems real to me.
