Whos ditching 8800 GT for new rev GTS?

They aren't exactly the same architecture are they :)

Performance wise they proberbly are, just the 3870 is on a lower process and has a 256bit interface with GDDR4 memory and is higher clocked but still bottoms out at same speeds as the 2900.

when the prices eventually drop i'll get myself another 8800GT for around £140 in a nice SLI setup,

1 x G92.GTS vs 2 x G92.GT's = no contest

;)

512MB is limiting in a game like Crysis at 1680x1050, especially if you want to enable AA it goes over 512mb.
Yeah, even with No AA at 1920x1200, my GTX uses well over 500Mbs in the carrier level of Crysis, so it must cause some stuttering/slowdown with a 512Mb card (at the same settings).

That was someone asking if they can SLI 8800 Cards on an crossfire mobo.

Hence my correct response.

The whole thread was about 8800cards not 7900 series which the hacked drivers supported.

Thanks for the effort man but I'm totally not interested in that, what I'm interested in is a nice new SLI mobo that will run a pair of 8800 cards.

Hurry up and finish your designs so the manufacturers can get the board built and on the shelves. . . please! :D

[edit] although looking at peaheads 8800GT SLI results (vs a single 8800GT) I'm not sure if SLI is the way to go? Need more user results really to be sure.

Looking forward to the new 8800GTS though, not sure to jump on it or wait for the results to come in. . .
