Feel inferior by watching 10 of the godliest gamers in action

completely and utterly(only watched a few vids) god damned pointless. just once i wish they'd do some world championships for dancing crap games and have them program a new track in, so they all look at each other and go "wtf, i haven't spent 2 years memorising the crap outta this, wtf am i gonna do now".

when it comes to more basic games, like a top down scroller where the ships spawn identical places every single time, or dance things where you learn the notes, non of its skill its just an ungodly obsession of time memorising. that is a skill itself, but i personally don't think its one iota of gaming skill at all.

a level of CS, while say on office generally people go the same way most times, they can be anywhere, pop up anywhere, you can play against different numbers of people every time up against different weapons which all change tactics. you can't simply memorise it, as you're playing against someone basically. thats where streetfighter to a point has slightly more credibility than dance dance and other crap. but the combo's are still all about memorising. he also knew the timing to do all the blocks because he would have memorised the timing of chun li's kicks by playing it for ages.

i don't know, i guess i could, so many people play to a point and force themselves to learn say, if theres a whole in the wall people snipe from, people learn to get to a exact point, pop out and the bullet will hit that whole in the wall. i never bother learning that exact, i just play on instinct. memorising maps to that level, or vs computer games completely takes all the fun out IMHO. which is fine, but again i think its not gaming skill whatsoever, its simply, i can move my feet fast skill, or i can memorise which button to press in order.

but thats just me.

its not, most likely, you ever remember how fast tetris got right before you got owned? like i said, its just memorising which pieces come out, which way they need turning and where to stick them. boring and pointless.

Hehe, I knew the ambidextrous Ikaruga one was gona be there, having spent so many hours on the game myself and still unable to do anywhere near as well as he did and with only one hand, can't help but scrape my chin on my distasteful carpet!!

Not quite as simple as that, you have to play the game to appreciate how subtle the ship spawning is(it's random in places and well as the bullets in general), not only that but there's much more depth to it. Check out the other levels if you can. Especially Level 4, my most favourite and imo most hardest level in the game. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/53429.html (Aspect Ratio is a bit messed)
