Been Burgled

All this burglar bashing makes me sad. Maybe he was a considerate burglar.

Seriously - Flatmate or landlord or keyholder.

I cant help pointing the finger of blame towards the landlord, yeah he has a key but if something went missing from your house without any trace of a break in you would then put it down to someone having a key as he does, also if the alarm goes off and anybody feels like questioning him he has a good excuse of being the landlord and making sure his property is ok....i reckon he knew the window can be removed from the outside, wouldnt surprise me if he had this beading lying about for a while and was looking for the right time to commit the crime, after all he aint gonna smash his own window or burst his own door as it comes out his pocket? as for only taking the monitor, it maybe just comes down to the fact that he or someone he knows is after a monitor and thats why all else was left. I really do not believe this is your average burglar, i agreee with the other that if it was it would simply be a smash and grab job.

its all weird, who knows, did you talk to the police, what do they think exactly?

the fact is all the idea's of it being someone you must know. theres no reason someone he knew would put the window back, likewise, some reason any burglar would put it back to stop arousing suspicion. as someone said, fairly easy to play with the window fora while appearing to be working on the house for legitimate reasons, then when the coast is clear, just pop in quickly grab something, come out, pretend to be fixing window still, leave when the coast is clear again.

but, hmm, landlord is snooping while he knows you are all away, somehow does something retarded, breaks window, piece of glass falls down, smashes screen, removes item, messes stuff up a bit, pretends it was a robbery, replaces window ¬_¬

or, i dunno where is the window in relation to everything. could someone have accidentally kicked a football through window, the went in, cleared up glass, fixed window, took screen as it was broken, left it to look like a burglary. all a bit far fetched, but it all sounds stupid anyway you think about it.

I had a similar thing happen to me, i got burgled, they took everything, but fortunately they had the foresight to build my ikea television cabinet while in the act which was still lying in the box.

anyone else waiting for an "i feel bad i robbed my flatmate/tennant" thread? :p

but seriously, sounds very very strange, i mean why wouldnt they just take the window aswell

there are a select few who are classed as good burglers - they always do something nice for you on the way out..

i'm surprised no one has came up with the suggestion you did it all yourself for the insurance money to get a new monitor...lol, c'mon own up:D

You need to make out a police crime report or whatever it is called and get a reference number from the police.

If you are lucky plod may be sufficiently amused by this one to bother to do something about it.
