If you can put up with the attached "stigma", then £8k will get you a great E36 M3 coupe, or even cabrio.

MX5's are great, seriously. Any bloke who tells you otherwise either isn't comfortable with their sexuality, or hasn't driven one.

A DC2 is shorthand for a Honda Integra DC2. Type-R would be the one to go for.

EDIT:

Personal choice for me would be a Euphonic, if you can find one. There are only two on Autotrader at the moment

Yeah true! MK2 1.8iS would be the ideal choice.

I have a MK1 eunos, which has an LSD. Great little car, but insurance was a bit of a shock for it.

The one problem i have with the MX5 is power, i was really after something sub 7 seconds to 60 at least.

Why exactly?

The MX5 might lose out in a straight drag race from 0MPH, but show it a country road (you know, where you actually have FUN driving), and its in a league of its own at this price range.

Are you after a drivers car, or something to cruise a dual-carriageway with?

But alas, under 7s to 60. I return to my E36 M3 EVO statement.

Civic Type R / Remapped Type-R if you were to extend out of a coupe of course.

See i was considering an elise. How is the ride comfort though? See this would be my every day car. Im young and silly, and quite happy to have a silly car for every day use. Im not willing to be uncomfortable on long drives though.
